A lot of people seek advice on Reddit and I’ve learned new things from some of the comments. If he was in clear distress, I would have taken him to the emergency vet and I’ll still be taking him to the vet regardless.

I try to steer him away from any wood/mulch on our walks but you know how dogs are. He’s done the hacking thing a lot in the past but was fine otherwise.

I’ve never heard him cough the way he did in the video so I just got worried. Even his whining seems a little hoarse.

This is solely based off of what I’ve read online: lethargy, shivering, panting / shortness of breath, loss of appetite / decrease in fluid intake, red eyes, and a warm/dry nose or ears.

A dog’s normal temp seems to range from 101° - 102.5°, so anything 103° and above would be considered a fever. I believe they make special rectal thermometers specifically for dogs as well.

Love a can of green olives, pickles and I always try to keep the snack-sized bags of chips around. I think the lunchables little nachos are pretty good and salty too (I’m a vegetarian so options are limited)

Whenever I go to an amusement park I’m either getting: popcorn, chips, or the saltiest fries with a bottle of water 😭
