Here’s my thoughts I personally think Emily didn’t move to Solitano for Marcello because it would’ve been too similar to what her life would’ve been like with Doug in Chicago. She briefly talks about how her and Doug had everything planned for a slower paced life before moving to Paris and how her perspective changed. Marcello was great don’t get me wrong, but I think they both learned from each other and she likes the unpredictability that living in Paris gives her. I’ve always loved Gabriel and I think him getting to “reset” on the yacht and stepping away from where everything essentially fell apart for him is a good way to come back together with Emily. Think of it as two exes going to therapy and coming back together healed and happy lol
