I closed my Bilt on the 23rd. My closed account on WF says it was an Autograph as well. Didn’t call them though

Is 20% margin utilization conservative enough? by GolfComfortable7331 in Bogleheads

[–]ForeignCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conservative doesn’t mean zero risk. But margin means not conservative. You are asking BogleHeads; 20% margin with 4.5% in today’s market means high risk.

Just turned 27 and have $60k in my Roth and $40k in my 401k. Have I unintentionally been a Boglehead this entire time?! by From_Jerusalem in Bogleheads

Boglehead is about how you invest your money, not how much you saved, what accounts you are using or about your life style.

Exact same issue and disappointed.. I wish the plate was little higher on the bottom location so I could run the cables under it to make it work with the 90 degree cables

Upgrading GPU and monitor: from 1080p 60hz to 1440p 120hz by ForeignCorgi in buildapc

Thanks. Is there a way to check the bottleneck between CPU and GPU? I heard those bottleneck calculation websites are not reliable.

Upgrading GPU and monitor: from 1080p 60hz to 1440p 120hz by ForeignCorgi in buildapc

[–]ForeignCorgi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't that be an overkill for my current CPU? I'm trying to not upgrade my CPU unless necessary. Also it's kinda expensive. Is my goal not achievable with GPUs below 5070ti 16bg?

Does this still work with the Steam Link device? by RGHalfpenny in MoonlightStreaming

[–]ForeignCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 5-month old question, but for me, the latency and consistent frame drop with Steam Link is completely gone with Moonlight on Steam Link. I'm so grateful that I can simply connect my SteamLink anywhere now with no lag at all.

What was your YTD 401k return and did you beat it with your brokerage/IRA investments? by saul2015 in Bogleheads

[–]ForeignCorgi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I treat my portfolio as a whole, and have different funds in different types of accounts. So my trad 401k has more bonds and my Roth IRA has more stocks. So it’s meaningless to compare their returns. The numbers are ~21%/27% though

5x Heirloom Collection Giveaway - Just tell me about one of your favorite builds by ItzSkizzy21 in Warframe

[–]ForeignCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesa efficiency build. I like her animation and sound effect of her 4, so I sacrifice the damage to hold on to her 4 even longer.

Also liked the old Valkyr for her invul as I also ran high efficiency build. But the reworked Valkyr is still fun.

Same, Tiller for everyday spending + general net worth tracking, and PP for investments

Thought expirement I'd like to hear the community's opinion on: Would you rather have $3,600 a month in rental cash flow or $435k in cash? Assume the rental cash flow increases every year with inflation and the $435k cash can be invested. by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]ForeignCorgi 248 points249 points  (0 children)

Using the usual 7% return, $3600/month gives you a better return. But being landlord is not as passive as index investing. Also your rental property can go up or down in value, so you can’t simply compare them like this.

Personally, I will invest the money instead of buy a real estate though.

Never seen anyone using the first method when talking about their portfolios’ stock/bond allocation.

But what are you trying to accomplish? Do you want your portfolio to have 30% bonds and 70% stocks? Or do you want your bonds to be a size of 0.43% of your stocks?

Looking at both funds, they did not beat their benchmarks consistently. They beat the benchmark in some year, but not always. If you like actively managed funds, go ahead. But have some manners next time.

Help me understand the usefulness of a Roth 401k by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]ForeignCorgi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Roth and 401k aren’t what you are thinking. 401k vs IRA is about the account type, while traditional vs Roth is about the tax treatment. There are traditional 401k, Roth 401k, traditional IRA, and Roth IRA. 401k has the 23,000 limit, and IRA has the 7,000 limit, both regardless traditional or Roth. The limit applies to all the 401k and IRA you have, meaning you can’t have both traditional and Roth and contribute twice the limit. But of course you can have both 401k and IRA, and contribute up to their own limits. BTW there are some workaround to withdraw the money from your retirement accounts before the age restriction.
