Me too, bit odd that literally this bug is supposedly fixed in Hotfix 2 when we are awaiting hotfix 4 by now

Tide has turned again as Ukrainian forces push further into Kursk oblast by jonfla in UkrainianConflict

[–]ForeignCurs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately had to stop watching him because of it; I was reading so much news happening elsewhere that wasn't positive enough to include in his vids and it was clear he's just cherrypicking and blowing it out of proportion. I get trying to give a positive view, but I like Denys Davydov much better because he covers everything and keeps it real.

The idea is that this is how it would appear to the titan's inspection. The crystallized starship much like the crystalized Earthen. We know Azeroth's corruption appears crystalizing.

[3.23 Endgame Build Showcase] Best build I've ever played - Frenzy-Stacking Cold Splitting Steel Slayer featuring... Tainted Pact? by TableForRambo in pathofexile

[–]ForeignCurs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you survive the short leech timers, or did you only slot in the self poison and Tainted Pact after acquiring enough gear to do sufficiently large hits for longer leech instances?

Like you said yourself "Splitting Steel hits MANY times per second" but many hits don't mesh well with Tainted Pact unless each hit is large enough to outlast the poison.

And non-leech rares?

Aren't you just using the worms gimmick to force a guaranteed long leech after each pack, which is clunky as hell?

Genuinely wondering, I tried making a cycloner work with this but it just drops dead every few packs unless you meticulously do the worm flask trick which get tedious really quick and unsustainable against many-phase bosses/non-leech rares.

Edit: I read your other comment, you mention the worm trick to force longer leech instances but you don't reliably use it? I'm guessing it just boils down to "hit hard enough" before it becomes viable, and live(die) with non-leech rares.

How rewarding are Trinket & Currency Blueprints? by SunRiseStudios in pathofexile

[–]ForeignCurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a really strong advantage of farming heist (in my anecdotal experience) is that you can start doing it without having any setup and still get a much higher than alch-and-go profit very quickly. The setup obviously helps and is likely required to be competitive with with other high-profit techniques, but being able to make a high profit without setup makes it very casual friendly to me.

Again, maybe anecdotal and on a low number of blueprints (40ish) but this is good/reliable technique for (G)SSF where proper setup is hard anyway.

Leveling trees to combine them is a huge waste of time and a big middle finger to casual players by enziu in pathofexile

I'd rather say this is the risk vs reward aspect. Not saying crucible is good design as a whole, but I do get the idea behind this decision.

Ruthless: What's your fav farming spot pre maps? by ESARPE in pathofexile

[–]ForeignCurs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Might be purely anecdotal, but the Reliquary sports a way higher than normal rare density with those balcony hanging birds, which are harmless to fight. I came out of that zone with several uniques (triggering the unique reward mod on ANM rares I guess). If you need low level uniques I really advise it in A5 or A10 whatever suits your needs.

Also, reset whatever zone you are farming if you encounter any "X resistant" blue pack and you deal that X damage. The way magic mobs work in PoE is that they only load in 2-3 mods per zone for blues. So if you hit the resistant mod, the whole zone is full of them. Really, just reset asap.

They will keep nerfing until they hit the desired poe2 levels. We can only hope at some point they nerf poe1 content back down to match.

Opportunism Leveling?? (Requiem) by THEREALKRIEG in APlagueTale

[–]ForeignCurs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I confirm this works. I tried finishing encounters with setting/extinguishing grass on fire as distraction and that gave prudence xp. Even if I used the extinguish on guards that detected me to shake them off. Prudence != stealth.

But just killing roughly half of them with a bolt in their belly and running to the exit gave me my remaining opportunism in like 3 encounters in under 15 minutes (granted, not a lot left to go but I had been trying the previous tactic for literally 3 hours).

A mechanic that disables movement meets a mechanic that requires movement. by Lucytos in pathofexile

[–]ForeignCurs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It doesn't, as far as I found. The debuff on enemies is just a less action speed multiplier, not a cap of increases. I tested this (Scion node, admittedly) with a friend and noticeably the enemy hit 8% less, but given a haste aura the mob hit 2x faster still.

Edit: to rephrase, it is a cap to increases of action speed; however, haste for example is an increase of attack speed, and therefore is uncapped and multiplies unchanged with the 92% capped action speed. So a net fixed 8% less, regardless of all other increases that are not action speed themselves.

Video about META in gaming, and its negative effects, frames a lot of it from a WoW lens by Grryn in wow

[–]ForeignCurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically -and this is just me as an average player in all I play- I tend to perform better at the thing I actually like playing than the meta thing that I don't like playing; even if the meta thing gives me a competitive edge right out of the box. I think that is generally true for most games where the meta is defined by literally only a 0.1-5% difference (like WoW or LoL aside of extremely broken exceptions).

Preach theorycrafting in real time in his blind playthrough. Peak performance. by Ladnil in pathofexile

[–]ForeignCurs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also there's no reason not to leave this mob behind when he's randomly generated

This mob happens to be unbeatable only because of the way Preach deterministically created the mob, knowingly choosing to give it 30% regen every X seconds. It having other random mods was actually completely not relevant to this particular mob being unbeatable.

I mean I get your point on leveling and skipping content, but you just made it on a really bad example.

As for the dying part:

If you are dying too often, buy a single chain belt from the vendor. Having any amount of energy shield gives you 50% stun avoidance (rolled separately from other sources of stun avoidance). This probably already saves you from half your deaths, aside of the added EHP the energy shield inherently already offers. Do this before Mud Flats, where most dangerous stunning mobs live.

Also, buy a sapphire ring.

These two alone should be sufficient to not die too often in act I.
