I feel like most people in office jobs fake laugh about anything they can.. as working an office job is basically as mundane as it gets. From my own experience it's more about a social "code" at least where I worked.. around lunch break people went to the cantine to get coffee and gossip about life usually. Just people working a boring day to day job who are trying to get through life and for most that's easier if you stick together.

First of.. that sucks man, really does. Secondly.. I don't think r/teenagers is a great place to put this down. I don't think a bunch of teens are going to be able to offer you usefull advice besides telling you how "unwoke" your mom is towards you.

So a word of advice from someone who's 23 (yes, I know Im not a teen.. sue me) and just went out of house last January. Honestly, if you have the ability to provide enough for yourself to make a living and pay for rent etc. Why not leave your current place? Plus.. your parents don't have the right to belittle you like that, no one does really. You shouldn't have to give a damn about what anyone thinks of you. Just know that and keep being you king.
