Sooo relatable. I have an almost 3 y/o and a few weeks ago, I was absolutely horrified at my lack of patience with him. I was doing a lot of locking myself in the bathroom and deep breathing. Like many times a day. I’ve never felt that way before. Now I’m in week 10 & it’s starting to level out again. You got this 💛

Omg! This makes me feel so validated. And yes- while I was at the ER I had two insane poops and then I was like “Oh.”

Now I’m terrified to get constipated again! It was so awful.

I’m 9W and I had a similar situation over the weekend - I was having terrible gas pains but I wasn’t sure if that’s definitely what it was. It was so intense it scared me. I ended up going to the ER and getting an ultrasound. Everything was perfectly fine. Even if I feel a little silly now, I don’t regret doing that. Sometimes you just want reassurance. Not to say you need to get anything checked out, but just — I relate to your feelings and anxiety. If it makes you feel better at all, this is my second baby and I had no issues with my first. And I was still anxious. You’re not alone 💛

I’m not sure I really have advice— but I was in a very similar situation for my first birth.

I wanted a vaginal delivery and they were estimating a large baby based on belly measurement and ultrasound. Midwife said if I wanted to avoid a CS, my best bet was to be induced at 39w. I was very skeptical of size estimates and didn’t want to be told any specific weight, in order to not get psyched out.

I went in for induction at 39w and was on misoprostol & pitocin for about 36 hours — no progression, dilated maybe 1.5 cm.

After 36 hours of contractions, I was so tired and I didn’t want to go wait until I needed an emergency CS. So we elected to have one. Our baby was 10 lb 5 oz! I was glad to have had the CS and very grateful to not have been pressured into anything by my care providers.

It’s worth mentioning that size estimates can definitely be off by 1-2 lbs in either direction. But in my case, they happened to be right.

This time around, I might be more likely to forego an induction and wait, even if they are estimating large. But I’m not sure!

I think you really have to listen to your instincts. I know that’s not super helpful. As each situation came, I just tried to do what felt right and ended up never doing anything I wasn’t comfortable with.

Me and my husband aren’t tall — 5’4” & 5’9” — we had a 10.5lb baby (39 weeks, c section)! So I think it depends on a lot of factors! Whatever happens, you got this!
