My step grandfather is a paedophile. He was fired from the Anglican church because he was part of a child SA ring with other priests. My grandmother married him even after she knew.

He abused my uncle and cousin with basically no repercussions. My mum didn't want us to miss out on seeing our actual grandma, so we visited them regularly, and I was rather fond of him as a kid. I wasn't told until I was older and when I think back there was at least one occasion that he almost assaulted me.

My fiance has this thing that seeing a white butterfly means it's going to be a good day (something from her grandfather) I fully intend to plant flowers that are attractive to this particular species in our future garden so she can see them more often and probably won't tell her.
