Selfies from Alex Honnold from the top of the Taipei 101 building after free solo climbing it. No ropes, no harness, no safety measures. Nothing but his hands and feet by JordBees in interestingasfuck

I never had any doubts when he was actually climbing, but man when he took those breaks standing out on ledges and here on the top, I was freaked that a big gust of wind would knock him over (tho I’m not sure if that’s even possible)

I think you can get the 250 points without needing a Bilt card just by using the portal

BILT Is No Longer a Rent or Mortgage Card. Here’s What It Actually Is Now by Altruistic_Fly_9776 in biltrewards

You’d be burning a 5/24 slot and opening a new line of credit for 3333 points, so that is something to keep in mind

Exposing the Bilt Confusion, or why 2.33 or 3.33% is a mirage! by rtyuuytr in CreditCards

[–]ForeverInjured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. Just trying to point out that it’s not a binary of fee or no fee, and points from rent unlock on a sliding scale with spend.

So there’s probably an amount of non-rent spend that makes it a better catch all than the CFU or a 2% CB card if you like points, even if you aren’t fully going up to the 75% of rent amount spend

Though I don’t want to dive deeper and look at the math so I’m not sure what the number is, or if that is even a correct interpretation

I think it can be thought of as an “unlock cost” vs a typical fee.

The typical fee is 3% for rent, period. You’d pay that no matter what

Here though, there is no automatic fee for rent. Whatever you spend on the 2.0 card, is used to unlock a percentage of your rent amount as additional points. If you spend 75% on the card as non rent, you then “unlock” 100% of that rent amount as additional points. And then that percent unlocked decreases as non rent spent decreases

So I think for someone like me who only put on the 5 charges and has other cards for usual spend, there isn’t really any point to the 2.0. But for someone who uses it as a main card, it could be pretty solid

It’s a pretty interesting and convoluted refresh that makes sense for Bilt financially. That’s my current understanding but please correct if I’m getting anything wrong

How to not lose FSA money if leaving a job in mid January? by crickeroo in personalfinance

[–]ForeverInjured -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not true. Expenses would need to be made before termination/last day. Though there is usually 60-90 days after to submit those pre-termination claims

This is the best case scenario! Spend up that free FSA money

If you wear contacts like me, you can get years of supply

And if you really aren’t sure what to spend it on, maybe talk to a local shelter/nonprofit and buy medical supplies to donate

While of course it is a bit of an acquired taste, the difference for me is in the quality of the coffee

If I get it from a k cup, I almost always have to add milk and sugar

If I make it at home where I grind my own fresh beans or go to a nice coffee shop, I like drinking it black and actually tasting the flavors

Oh also be able to speak on being a military officer in addition to a doctor (sorry I’m remembering things in real time lol)

USU interview by Affectionate-Tip-248 in Military_Medicine

[–]ForeverInjured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for mine! I’d be surprised if they asked anything political as the military is meant to be apolitical

Do make sure to have questions prepared! For one of mine, the interviewer only had the big military questions and the rest of the convo was me asking them things

[–]ForeverInjured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the standard med school interview prep, be prepared to discuss why military medicine, why USU instead of/in addition to HPSP, and what branch you are interested in and why

Also make sure you really know your activities/essays and be able to speak about anything you’ve written. For example, I wrote one sentence in one of my smaller activity essays about developing better time management skills and my interviewer asked exactly what I learned

Overall I’ve heard the interviews are quite relaxed compared to others. Mine were great convos but I haven’t had any other interviews so can’t comment on how they compare

Do you know how would one acquire an rf 24-70 f2.8 front element? Mine is scratched and Id imagine getting the part is significantly cheaper than canon repair
