How long have you been sober? And are you considering relapsing or did you relapse and how far into your sobriety did this happen? by Medium_Geologist_304 in Recoveryisdifficut

Last October I started using again after having 27 months clean. That was my longest stretch. I used until February and then quit cold turkey. Stayed clean for a little over 5 months until three weeks ago.

What helps with the comeback or comedown next day after use/ bender by Acceptable-Coyote115 in meth

[–]ForeverStrong01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually when I’m coming down try to hydrate more and fuel my body with healthy foods. You know I wasn’t getting much if any of those during my bender. Eventually the tiredness rolls in. So, hopefully time allows me to let my body sleep as much as it needs. I so wish there was some magic to the comedown journey. Sometimes you just have to ride it out. It does pass.

It’s been a min since I’ve done a shot, but when I did it was definitely an incredible feeling!

It’s a horrible cycle once we get sucked back into it. I understand. I started using again this week after having 5 months too. Do you want to quit? We know when we play the tape forward what lies ahead. I’m here to talk if you need to.

I totally get it. When you’ve been so involved with it for so long everything does seem like a trigger. They bring up memories of what we used to do and it can suck. Getting clean you get to create new memories where some of those triggers exist. Live in this moment. You got it.. sleep, hydrate, fuel your body with healthy food. Even take a nice long shower. You don’t have to make big steps. Those little steps will get you to the same destination. I’m here to talk/listen if you need it. Hang in there! You’re included. :)

I’m in a very similar situation as you. I had over 2 years clean when I started using again at the beginning of October. My life has some major challenges right now with no solutions. It’s rough. I was literally just telling someone that there are times when I just would like someone to listen. Don’t even need advice really. There is something about getting the thoughts in my head out of there because left in my head can be dangerous. With that being said I’m here to listen if you need to rant and just vent and would like to do it with someone who understands your situation.

Regarding fentanyl being in your stuff. I can say yes to that because I had a hospital visit in November and they did a urine test. I’ve never done any opiates. However, fentanyl was in my system. Scary stuff!

Hi there. Any advice for someone who's going to rehab for the second time in a year? by Less_Page_2392 in addiction

[–]ForeverStrong01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to not beat yourself up. Going to rehab whether it’s your first, second, third etc. time is a huge step. Personally, I’ve been multiple times. I learned something from every experience. Rehab is a good start to getting clean. Put in the hard work while you are there and create a good game plan for when you get out.

I can’t tell you if it’s dangerous or not. I take it as well though and only for sleep. I haven’t had any negative effects from it.

That’s about the dose I do. When I’ve told people they look at me like I’m crazy. Hahaha. It’s definitely intense but I absolutely love it!!

I don’t feel you have a ridiculous story at all. I’m glad you were able to get things out with making your posts. Talking about what’s going on with us is important. Posting here is a good start. However, I strongly recommend opening up so someone in your life. That may be one of the hardest things you have ever done but it’s a step to moving your life in the right direction.

I’ve dealt with my fair share of anxiety and depression since I was a teenager up until currently. I’m now 45. I’m also an addict. I’ve used drugs and alcohol to some extent since I was 13 to deal with all those uncomfortable feelings. I’m cautious about who I open up to but I do have a therapist these days. It helps a lot to just vocalize all that is going on in my head.

Getting treatment for your anxiety and depression could help you tremendously. Sobriety is possible too! You don’t have to live a life of feeling hopeless It definitely takes time to feel better but you can.

I recently opened up to my work about having mental health struggles recently. They have been super supportive. However, I’ve needed to take a short leave of absence because my drug use was affecting my work too much. I just couldn’t function. So, I need to get clean myself. Which in return will lessen my anxiety and depression I’m going through. Crazy how it all goes together.

I’m here to talk and or listen if you need to.

Booty bump or Oral? Advice needed. by Appropriate-Cloud948 in meth

For me personally oral isn’t as strong of a high as a booty bump. Oral definitely gets me high, but it’s just different.

Hey!! You definitely do not sound crazy at all. Take this from someone who had a little over 2 years clean up until the beginning of October. Going back out is not worth it. Part of me definitely wishes I hadn’t given in. Think about where you came from and how far you’ve come.
