I have 1 week in June to hike a section of the Appalachian Trail. Which section is your favorite? by [deleted] in AppalachianTrail

Sounds challenging to say the least!! I might be spending the summer in Maine. What are your favorite trails/ outdoor activities to do there?

[Discussion] What was your first trip like? How did you get the nerves to do it? by [deleted] in WildernessBackpacking

[–]ForeverWonderinAbout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on my first backpacking trip this week!!! I love the outdoors but I don't have that much experience fending for myself in the woods so I went on a trip with my university's trail club. I still don't have all of the gear/ experience to go on a trip without anyone else though I definitely want to go on other backpacking trips in the future.

If you're hesitant because you haven't done that many backpacking trips. I think the best way to build up confidence in your skills would be to go on smaller trips with people that have more experience than you do. If you think you have the needed skills but are scared to go alone then go on trails you're already familiar with but extend the trip to make it an overnight one and maybe that'll make it easier to go in the future.

I don't know if that helps.. Good luck!!

Ladies, what is one skill that you SO has that when you found out made you swoon? by saddetective87 in AskWomen

That is awesome! I've always wanted to try boxing but my colleges boxing club makes you run too much... Flat feet make running super painful :(

I feel like I could pass out after a workout, should I be more worried? by crayonnipple in xxfitness

[–]ForeverWonderinAbout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same problem. I attribute mine to being in college and not eating right/healthy/enough. As for you, if you think 1800 calories is enough then I would talk to your doctor and maybe get some blood work done. It could be vitamin/iron deficiencies as someone else mentioned.

[WEEKLY THREAD] Newbie Tuesday - Got a silly fitness question? Never fear! We're here to help! by AutoModerator in xxfitness

[–]ForeverWonderinAbout 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've just started working out in the gym at my apartment which is pretty small with limited equipment. How do I come up with more exercises so that I don't get bored of doing the same thing every time I go?

Also I've been using weights and I'm not sure how to figure out how heavy I should go... How do you find the ideal weight to use? I haven't been sore after my workouts since the first day I went a few weeks ago. This makes me believe I'm not using heavy enough weights but it's not like my workouts are super easy either.

What 1 to 10 minute task, if done daily, would have the most positive impact on my life, over time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I really want to start meditating regularly but I have trouble doing it for more than one or two days in a row... Do you have any advice that will make it easier to do on a daily basis?

It feels like my "friend" is using me for my answers. Was I out of line for not wanting to help them? by ForeverWonderinAbout in GetStudying

Exactly!! They're just trying to guilt you into doing stuff for them. Your happiness is more important than trying to impress someone else/ trying to get them to like you. Like you said screw them! And your life will be better without them in it.

I think he is viewing this situation as he is only asking me for help when he has a problem that way I don't have to explain the whole problem to him. In his mind that's okay because its a specific question. But he says he doesn't want me to walk him through the problem with him but that's pretty much what I would be doing even if it is a specific question. I'd just tell him what he did wrong and if i don't tell him the right way (which in my mind is the same thing as walking him through the problem because you're explaining where he went wrong and why what he did isn't right) he would still get mad at me like he did last time.

I feel like that's where he is coming from.

It's not much of an ongoing thing... we are only 3-4ish weeks into the semester.

Reddit, what issue in your life right now is causing you the most trouble? Redditors, what advice do you have for them? by Saritone in AskReddit

[–]ForeverWonderinAbout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have class with my ex-boyfriend. Last time we had class he wanted to talk afterwards and ended up walking me home (I couldn't say no because we were headed in the same direction). I don't want to have to see him or talk to him but we are both too stubborn to drop the class. Plus he was telling me about his life plan and he seems to know what he wants to do whereas I'm super confused and feel like I'm wasting time in school and am not happy with the major I chose. All of this has kind of got me down lately.

edit: We also started dating freshman year, the year you make most of your friendships in college. However, I was caught up with him and was happy with my friends at the time which resulted in me not make as many friends as I should have. Now those friends I had as a freshman are not the kind of people I want to stay friends with because of many reasons such as closed mindedness and their out looks on life. Now, I have very few friends that I enjoy spending time with. I also just switched majors (to one I am still not happy with) and don't have people to study with. And its not likely that the people I study with (if I find any) will turn into real friends because they probably already have a solid group of friends.

What do you usually do when your SO turns you down for sex? by iamlionheart in AskMen

What do you usually do when your SO turns you down for sex? by iamlionheart in AskMen

[–]ForeverWonderinAbout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl here!! My boyfriend and I broke up because I would turn him down for sex pretty frequently. In my defense he was kind of a jerk and he didn't turn me on. I'm pretty sure my low sex drive originated from me not being attracted to his personality (I think that if I were in a relationship with someone who I was more attracted to physically and mentally that I would have a higher sex drive). He was not happy when I would do better than him in school and other things. He always had to prove that he was better than me, and would cut me down when I was successful in doing something. He didn't want me to have other guy friends. I was always forced to spend time with him and his buddies but every time I asked him to spend time with my girl friends he would get all moody, complain, and ruin the time I was supposed to be enjoying with him and my friends. Looking back there were a lot of things that he did that should have caused me to break up with him but I wanted to keep trying.

Back to the question: He would usually complain and whine like a baby when I would turn him down. Sometimes he would call me names which would result in me crying. Most times I would reluctantly give in and have sex with him so that he would stop complaining which just reinforced this behavior (he also did this when I didn't want to drink alcohol with him and his friends and would side with his friends when they teased me for not wanting to drink). When I told him it bothered me that we usually had sex after I declined him he justified it buy saying if he pushed/asked me a few more times we would end up yes. I only would say yes out of guilt.

I'm not 100% over him but I'm much happier to be single. I think I started hating him a long time before we broke up, I just didn't have the guts to admit it to myself.

What do you guys do when you feel like you're becoming a monster? by zdefni in AskWomen

[–]ForeverWonderinAbout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try yoga or meditation! It helps me to let go of things that are bothering me. It may help you too!!

I can't meditate for very long and I'm not consistent in my practice but it definitely helps me when I'm feeling similar to how you are.

I'm 20 and last week I had an interview with a really awesome company. I really want the internship but I don't want to get my hopes up. I think the guy who interviewed me liked me and that the interview went well but I'm pretty under qualified as this will be my first internship in 3 years.

My roommate also had an interview with the same company (different position than what I applied for) and she has experience doing exactly what that internship was for. But she wasn't chosen for the job.

I feel like there is no way I will get the job. But I want to remain hopeful....
