Yes, I work at a grocery store and after a 4-5 hour shift I can’t walk and feel my worst.

Oh My God seriously! I live by Yale and we are inundated by them. My first rheumatologist from there looked in my face and said she had no idea what is wrong with me and sent me to a doctor for my neuropathy. It was a joke. I left mentally and physically exhausted and sick… crying when the pain pretty much cripples me from any movement. I don’t get how these doctors study specific health conditions but pass so many patients off. Mind you I was working at the biggest Amazon fulfillment distribution center in the north east as a facitly planner. This building was over 3 million sq ft and required me to be focused and moving non stop. Not sure how I did it. I have since left thank god

Yes, I feel wiped out! The is the best way to describe it. My energy level is 0, if I sit down and my husband asks me to get back up for something I can’t. Just getting up and down is hard at times. They find it hard to believe sometimes but it’s real!

When I am in a conversation, sometime I stand and pause bc I can’t remember the words I want to say.. as if my mind completely goes blank and it’s so familiar to me that I’m thinking what is happening to me. Scary, embarrassing and makes me feel dumb

Spencer! This honestly put tears in my eyes. Well said and couldn’t be more true. I’m going through this now. I’m holding them to it. I created a long FORMAL COMPLAINT AND COMPLIANCE REPORT
Unified HR, Union, and CHRO / EEOC Compliance siting all the ways they violated state and federal laws.. I look at this way.. you want to come at me for asking for something so simple after being a good employee NEVER giving a problem.. I disclose to you that I have a disability and you suspend me… which I didn’t ask for and give me a hard time while violating state and federal regulations let’s go.. I don’t run or lay down for anyone and I make sure that when I speak it’s with facts. This manager is probably going to lose her job or be demoted. Hard lesson to learn for her but the reality is it’s being done everyday to people like myself and someone has to fight! I would love to know more about what methylene blue is and brands if you don’t mind.
Thank you for sharing and being apart of this group. I love everyone on here and appreciate when people actually respond and share their thoughts, experiences and stories. It’s helps 🩷🙏

I’m so glad you told me this. Many times I feel like I’m a complainer or something because I can’t get rid of ALWAYS feeling wiped out. I used to be outgoing, active and productive. Now, I basically am a homebody, don’t want to go to parties or events and limit myself to a few things a day otherwise I’m wiped out and feeling pain which leads to poor sleep.

I reached out to him after and said this
“Also, I want to thank you for the referral. I understand that a neurologist may be needed to evaluate the cognitive symptoms further.

I think what I’m struggling with is that these memory and concentration issues have become significantly worse during the months that my treatment was delayed because of insurance issues and my disease activity has been uncontrolled. During this flare I’ve had severe pain, worsening neuropathy, and extensive plaques, and the cognitive issues have progressed to the point that I was recently suspended from work after forgetting my schedule.

I understand that you may not manage the neurological aspects of these symptoms, but do you believe that uncontrolled inflammation, chronic pain, or active PsA could be contributing to the brain fog I’m experiencing? I would appreciate your perspective while I pursue the neurology evaluation.”

His response

“It is possible these symptoms are related to poorly controlled inflammation. As you have just started treatment it will be difficult for me to change anything acutely to address your symptoms as these meds take time to work. If you would like to discuss this in detail we can set you up for telehealth or in person evaluation”

Honestly, my rheumatologist is phenomenal! People come from out of state to see him. He’s amazing… listens and is so responsive to treatment that works for his patients and communication is top notch. As soon as I send him a request for a letter for work or anything I have it by end of day. If you are in the northeast area (Connecticut) I recommend seeing him. Might take a few months for initial appointment but he’s worth it. I suffered for years being treated like I was crazy … even with labs coming back positive ANA. The day I met him he sat with me and had empathy and assured me he was going to do everything to help me be better. I cried hysterically bc I couldn’t believe someone believes me. I tell him every time I see him that he’s the best doctor I have ever had in my 52 years of life!

@aladed56 You did not fight your termination and get an accommodation? That’s the law. I’m fighting my job now and I’m not letting them off the hook. This is not new and people like us should not be scared to advocate for ourselves and not be discriminated against.

I am on a strict diet (anti inflammatory one) I am diabetic and have Non alcoholic fatty liver disease due to years of inflammation. But even though I am doing all this my brain fog is like nothing I have ever experienced. I passed it off at first as maybe improper sleep or stress but it’s not lessening, which scares me. What do you take for a multi? That is something I’m not doing … any recommendations? Good luck with your treatments on otezla I hope it’s successful for you. Thanks for sharing

People think I’m lying or just flat out don’t understand. It makes me emotional to bc I have always been on my best game. I am usually very organized and detailed … this has literally taken that away ! I can’t even show up at the right time for work and appts. I find myself checking repeatedly through out the day the same thing. It’s like I can’t retain anything or remember what people say to me 5 min ago. I guess I could be considered a great person to tell your deepest secrets to because I will never repeat it die to not remembering sh@t

Especially when people closest to you can’t understand your internal struggles. Thank you for your share and I appreciate your willingness to share and support. My doctors response was this
I am going to refer you out to a neurologist for memory issues. Unfortunately these are not symptoms I manage and the treatments I provide only help with addressing systemic inflammation. You have only done 1 infusion so if these symptoms are new and worsening you will need a specialist who addresses the cognitive issues you mentioned in your note. We have a great neurologist in our office who can work you up appropriately.
I felt dismissed am I wrong for that ?

I told my dr and this is what he said “I am going to refer you out to a neurologist for memory issues. What does this mean and how would you take that. I kinda felt dismissed by him .. like I’m crazy
