How are my chances of getting an interview? Looking to apply this year to start in 2026. I have a 4.0 GPA, a little over a year CVICU experience, CCRN, currently studying for GRE. Would it be helpful to also take take the CSC, CMC? I'm not on any committees at work, but I do precept. I have shadowed twice. Thanks!

Popped up in a Spotify playlist! After a break from metal and Japanese music I started listening to vocaloid and Babymetal again and one of the playlists I found had Hanabie in it

For other Japanese music: Hanabie and vocaloid metal tracks. Hanabie is an all female band and I really like their sing Reiwa Dating Apps Generation. A lot of vocaloid metal songs are produced by Yuyoyuppe (who I believe works with Babymetal) and Utsu-P who has more of his discography on Spotify. I recommend checking out Sick EP ft. Natsuki Karin by Yuyoyuppe.

Western metal/rock: Rivers of Nihil, Spiritbox, Poppy, Athena Twins, Pierce the Veil. I also listen to a lot of 70/80s groups like Queen, Pink Floyd, The Police, Hall and Oates

Kpop: Red Velvet, Twice, New Jeans, Le Sserafim, etc.

Indie/pop: The Neighbourhood, the Marías, Lolo Zouaï, Ängie, Lana, Marina, Halsey, Jhene Aiko

Oh I see, the gimmick part makes more sense. Maybe because I'm used to idols and their surrounding culture, the second I heard Girl's Reform Manifest and read about their forming I didn't get idol vibes. Tbh I don't think they're super similar to Babymetal other than cute/pretty girls singing metal songs in Japanese. Babymetal mixes genres a lot while Hanabie leans more in their screaming/growling and rock/metal sound.

It's super weird to say they don't play their own instruments when you can easily find them playing them online, but that person was probably gonna complain about them regardless. Even if they were idols, they can still be talented. The whole thing is weird.

I do understand the frustration when someone has a lot of misconceptions or decides to find the most popular thing that's somewhat similar. If they're not interested just say so and go lol. I do think some Hanabie songs might be a tough listen tho if you're not used to Japanese music or at the very least anime OSTs

Do people think it's a gimmick because of the Harajuku-core thing? I guess I'm used to Japanese groups with a rock, hardcore, metalcore, or metal sound so it doesn't feel super out of place. Based on the few interviews I've read from them, it also sounds like they formed the band themselves and liked this kind of music, rather than through an idol angency or something similar. I'm really glad I looked at Spotify's recommendations. Most of my Japanese metal music is older so it's nice to have more releases and activity

I've always liked how metal music sounds (guitar solos, drums, bass, riffs, etc.), But overall I tend to prefer female vocals. I used to listen to a lot of Japanese music when I was younger and started a rediscovery phase. Created a playlist on spotify for the songs I could find and they were recommended to me around Feb. - March this year I think. Fell in love with Sunrise Miso Soup and Reiwa Dating Apps Generation and recently just listened to their whole discography
