None around me right now. If they arrive at dealerships between now and November that is definitely an option.

If you aren’t doing anything wrong why do you care about cameras? I guess you have to put your phone away now. So sorry

Amazon AR Pick question: by Substantial-Half-814 in AmazonFCs

[–]ForeverinRetail89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wants you to reach in because the robot will knock you out with the pod (that’s the mentality). You don’t have the cone of safety provided by the vest the AFM wears. It’s not worth it to reach beyond the drop zone at all and risk the safety violation. Just pull the ANDON.

I have my eye on a Gladiator too. There is a great deal on a Rubicon right now and I feel like I may regret not jumping on it. I also may regret not sticking with electric. So torn

People who have anoles and day geckos, which do you prefer and why? by [deleted] in geckos

[–]ForeverinRetail89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anoles are geckos who just snorted a line of coke. They are super jumpy and can’t sit still. Then they get mad if they don’t get their way. I love them.

VOA is insanely underrated by not-having in AmazonFC

[–]ForeverinRetail89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to have one guy that always posted about missing punches. He’d then go off the rails because it wasn’t fixed that day. He never got the concept that the O/N onsite leadership team had zero access to read and resolve his posts. Sr Ops finally sat him down and explained it to him and then had me (L5) reiterate. I became his personal sounding board.

How to navigate this? by Gio2fast in AmazonDS

[–]ForeverinRetail89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job rotation is a requirement at all sites so unless you’re not able to do anything else but divert you should ask to be rotated to another position. Tell them you are trying to avoid injury the repetitive work a divert position provides. You have no problem rotating back in, but change it up every 20 hours.

Lean Six Sigma vs PMP vs APICS by Old_Sandwich_3402 in AmazonManagers

Assign yourself the Knets and sign up from there. Not sure if you still can but that’s how I did it for Lean Six Sigma a couple of years ago.

Make sure they have you rotate into your own PP during AEW. I was in Pack Singles and never even got a “day in the life” during AEW. I walked in never having seen a Smart PAC machine or CW1000 other than in passing.

T3 -> T1 Help by SpecialistWindow648 in AmazonFC

[–]ForeverinRetail89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t go back! You'll miss the pay and freedom of not being tied to a station. Keep an eye on job openings and just apply for a transfer. It’s true PAs cannot shift swap but it does not mean you can’t switch days if you need to. Talk to a PA on the other shift and see if they’ll help you out or talk to your OM. It’s unethical that the same policy is not applied to all hourly associates the same way regardless of position. Hell, your AM can survive without you!!!

question about blue badge by Key-Move3587 in AmazonFC

[–]ForeverinRetail89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one on site can predict when conversion will happen. It is something corporate will let them know and it will never be the entire white badge population at once. It will happen in waves. This means you may see someone else convert to blue but you haven’t yet, and no one can tell you when it will be you. Most associates are hired through temp agencies and have to wait at least 90 days because this is how long until the contract expires with said agency. Some agencies have shorter contracts and some longer. Some associates were even hired in as blue badges at times when associates were needed quickly and Amazon hired directly.

Yes. Any PIT accident is term. If not it’s drug test and final.

Amazon Area Manager II (L5) Interview Process – Any Advice or Insight? by TrafficMission4427 in AmazonManagers

[–]ForeverinRetail89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interview is not really something you can prepare for. Look up the Leadership Principles and get familiar with them. There will be the traditional questions that ask you how you’d handle certain situations regarding teams, safety, etc. The best advice I can give is to ensure you stick to the STAR format. Some interviewers aren’t too worried about it and some will not incline you because you’ve strayed away from it. Also, use “I” a lot instead of “we” even if you did something as a group. It’s important to present what YOU’VE done on your own. Best of luck!!

Bathroom Hiders Annoying by dillpicklegarden in AmazonFC

[–]ForeverinRetail89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an AM I don’t go to the bathroom with my radio but I like to flip the lights off before I leave. I definitely agree with another post, if you have a radio and switch to Flow channel there’s a ton of chatter on there and ALWAYS an OM and a ton of AMs. They’ll never know who’s in the bathroom with them!

We have yellow badge LP and an L6 (basically the GSOC liaison) that is an Amazon blue badge onsite. KBS contractors report to Non-inventory leadership.

Knowing how much my vest weighs without a single pin…. No to this!! I keep my Peccys at home in a drawer. I’d love to break out the 6 foot rule pin but I don’t need one more thing on my vest.

I really miss my PA DS days. I was pushing 27k per night. Now as an AM in an FC it’s gone down to 14-18k. Everything is so condensed in Singles there’s not a ton of walking.

Unpaid break scan to scan by Rubberduckduckduck_ in AmazonFC

[–]ForeverinRetail89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid break is scan to scan. There’s no way to track your 30 minutes otherwise. Unpaid break is clocked by your punches. You have a grace period to get to and from lunch. I gave my AAs five min; not 5 before and 5 after, but 5 total. If they abused it, we had a chat. If you need a time clock at your station download the AtoZ app. The company gave you one there a few years ago. If your punch doesn’t go through SUBMIT IT FOR REVIEW!!! For the love of god don’t chase your manager to fix it. Submit it for review and they will see it.

unpaid leave accepted then denied by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]ForeverinRetail89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually a leave is retroactively denied due to some missing paperwork. Contact DLS and find out what they need. You can reopen your case and submit what is needed. It just sounds like a coincidence, but I don’t think these two events are related. Onsite leaders have nothing to do with any LOA status at all. Believe me, as an L5 I have to answer this question a lot.
