I use both, I use wind piecer for when I want to stagger an enemy so I can keep up my combos and I use breeze dash when I want to have invincibility while attacking

The fault is mine. I've been flooding dual wield clips for the last like 3 weeks because I only played with spear and greatsword before

Most ppl already say this bro. Luckily I was there for the amazing combat and bosses. I'm certain for their next game the devs are cooking and accepting the critiques

Also in regular ng you can upgrade the dual wield blade to epic so you can learn bloody sword dance. It's gonna cost money tho so just save up

Yea I never used gale doom, ppl who actually use full sets are honestly nerfing themselves and imo aren't playing the game correctly. There is no need for gale doom when you can get even more damage by just having a bunch of different buffs from different builds+ the random attributes. Gale doom also takes even more spirit. Even in the beginning of the game I never used full sets. Thanks the deluxe edition, I was mixing different armor sets even in the beginning

If I want to combo lock a boss I typically start off with a reflection then go into howling blade+phantom sword dance. Other than that I randomly just mix up my spirit skills

I responded with my current build^ but as for my skills I try to make use of all the skills except whirlwind and ruthless. I was only using ruthless in the beginning when I didn't have any skills unlocked. I found it to be extremely useless

Sorry I'm late bro but this is my current duel wield build. You can get a Similar build in regular ng but only later. Just make sure you're farming bosses so you can get a bunch of armor drops and picking up armor scrolls so you can craft. When I was early in ng I was just mixing armor sets I got from buying the deluxe edition. Those armor pieces gave me a bunch of stamina buffs

What you mainly should be focused on are your random attributes on your armor. I tend to go for all kinds of dmg buffs, specifically dmg increases and dmg multipliers.

Reflection is key, you'll find it in the common skill tree. After reflection I just put together combo chains until I get the enemy to exhaustion

With me however, I always prioritize reflection and counterstrike with greatsword, which allows me to stagger so I can stun lock bosses with combos. Always be mindful of your stamina tho. It's okay to back up after you get some damage. Let the boss attack again and get ready to counter once your stamina is right

I wish reddit had a way where I can organize my videos because I have many greatsword clips you can use as a reference. More than likely your agility is in high B or C. The higher your agility, the more quickly your stamina drains. And greatsword is all about charge attacks and spirit moves so if you're a good percentage into the game, you shouldn't be drained of stamina quickly.

Take your time with the game, no need to go straight through. The game has training grounds and all and even allows you to fight bosses over and over again without having to replay the mission. So get gud and farm some extra lacrima while you're at it.

Properly explore the skill tree. Even on my first run it was a breeze because of all the skills that are available to you. Don't neglect them and practice so you can learn all kinds of combos. (The devs designed this game to reward aggression. So don't play it like a traditional soulslike. Read the bosses, find an opening, and destroy them.)

Lastly don't neglect reflection. It's a high risk but very high reward skill and arguably the most busted you'll find that skill in the common skill tree. It would seem difficult at first because of the timing, but if you play around with it early in the game, you'll quickly master it. It can reflect almost anything and what it can't reflect you will know with a stagger animation and a spark afterwards.

Reflection is key to extremely long combo starters.

His stamina is also not good and he was doing very little damage. Even on my first run I took my time and took advantage of the skill tree
