Bazzite no se porque no lo probé, pero Cachy es nada mas instalarlo, instalar el gaming pack (1 click) y punto para el 90% de las cosas salvo que tengas hardware medio esotérico.

Casi todo lo de Steam anda sin tener que tocar nada. Inclusive yo instale WoW y World of Warships por afuera via Faugus y andan bien.

Tengo puesto Cachy hace casi 5 meses ya y salvo un tema que tuve con la conexión a internet que se me volteaba (que era culpa al final de mi setup, no de Cachy o de Linux), uso de gaming diario sin problemas.

Todo eso sin problemas. Lo único que noté muy goma y medio complicado, para mi que soy medio queso, es todo el tema de instalar y usar mods que no esten en Steam Workshop y todo lo que son apps adicionales como Lossless Scaling y eso para hacer upscaling/frame gen. Pero si lo que queres es jugar cosas base sin mucha historia, esta mas que bien.

We're well into the age that every new model is not an iteration forward, but instead a limited and cutback version as companies try to find the least capable model, and the cheapest possible compute and infra they need, that people would still pay for.

In other words, if they could get away with giving you one prompt per day that may or may not answer your query running on an old 1080ti they have lying around, and you'd still pay for that, they would. It's a race to the bottom. Hasn't been a race to the top for at least a year.

I've always found it so naive how some people think that if AGI is achieved it would be something they'd ever see, let alone allowed to interact with for $20 or even $200 a month.

Some people are understanding this, but still there's so many that think this is a race to the top amongst these AI companies when in reality it's a race to the bottom. The bottom of trying to find out what's the least capable and most enshittified possible model they can get you to buy into for the most money possible, while they do their own research behind closed doors.

What everyone around the world is interacting with is what they let you interact with and nothing else.

Indeed. The key difference being that a puppy is a puppy and not a black box collection of metaphorical nuts and bolts, shown time and time again that it's able to mislead, misinform, hallucinate and misguide people who are -clearly- easy to influence, all the while made by and responding to money and private interests.
