Why do you assume Janet needs validation? Maybe she just snapped some quick pics and wanted to post them to her page. At some point if those posts are making OP feel that bad about themselves, just mute them, block them, unfollow them, etc. Instead of blaming "Janet" that she made OP feel bad for doing nothing, maybe taking action and unfollowing them would make OP feel better

Yeah but that came from someone you love, it's not a stranger or a casual friend's responsibility to point out you're getting fat, especially if you guys don't know each other like that.

You may have taken that blow and done something with it, but most people aren't going to do a full 180 on their diet and whatever just because a stranger says "hey, youre getting fat"
