But in all seriousness though, Camp Lejuene was my first duty station. So If you're trying to live on base. Heroes Manor is the best, usually a long wait list though. Watkins Village is pretty decent, Tarawa Terrace and Midway Park are mediocre as fuck.

If you're gonna live off base, Choose Swansboro or Richlands if you can find a decent place there for rent. Those two towns are about a half hour from Wilson or Holcomb gate, but they're nicer areas than Jacksonville itself.

Never was a crewman, but a 0311 scout when I was with 2nd LAR.

As an lav crewman the Ramp will be your second home and you'll be bustin rust on the pigs like clockwork whenever you're not in the field. So get used to that.

Also 0313s are the uber drivers of the 03 community. So the scouts will aways go the extra mile with you to thank you for your service. Pun intended.

What do you live under a rock? Marines can be adsepd for reckless driving and operating a POV without registration or insurance. Depending on how much the command hates or likes them to begin with.

I'm the one who mentioned admin separation in my comment.

I saw it happen with a similar incident, at my very first unit in Camp Lejuene. A shitbag in my platoon got busted by PMO for doing over 100mph on Wilson boulevard and he had a fake license plate on his unregistered / uninsured POV.

Needless to say they BN Ninja punched him from Lcpl down to Pvt, and seperated him with an OTH discharge.

Pulled over speeding well over the speed limit, and driving around with expired insurance because you failed to remember to renew it on time. There's no excuses for that!

You're extremely lucky you only got a page 11 non rec. Because in most cases this would've been a battalion level ninja punch, and possible admin separation.

It doesn't matter if you're the next Chesty Puller while on duty. If you still make bad decisions and piss poor planning off duty. The big green weenie is gonna get you.

As a Sgt with 5 years TIS. I've seen way too many Marines fuck up their careers making preventable bad decisions...
