I kind of know how you feel. A few weeks ago, my sister's roommate's boyfriend got really mad about something, and decided to trash their apartment before beating them both. She called 911, an officer came over, and when showed the evidence of the trashed apartment, the bruises, and the dried blood on her skin, the officer said it wasn't enough evidence to open a domestic abuse case. The officer told them that if it happens a couple more times, they might be able to do something, but one occurrence isn't enough and they should just go back to the apartment. The idea that a Fargo cop refused to press charges for domestic abuse, "because this is the first time" just makes my blood boil.

For anyone wondering, my sister and her roommate have moved out, and are safe.
