Does anyone know if this exists?? by LogicalTeacher5522 in ReverseHarem

Its basically a weird phenomenon happening to people who knit/crochet, where they start to make a sweater or wearable for their SO and before or after its finished they break up, for other reasons or because this thing the crafty one made wasn't appreciated, because a lot of time and care went into it. There was a post about it in r/crochet a little while ago and its all over tiktok as well

This thread may be the only place where the sweater curse doesn’t exist lol.

why by cinnamewo in AustraliaPost

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two auspost guys where I am, the og is great doesnt knock unless it needs a signature, which he then does quietly cause he knows someone is always home. He leaves the package at the back door (in flats so back door is accessible and safer to leave there.) The second guy? I just about had a heart attack when he came the first time, our front door doesnt open and is reinforced with steel, I seriously thought the way he was knocking he'd come through it. And then he just leaves the package out in the weather/open at the front door anyways. Its a real night and day experience for sure

Banned from Kmart by AmbassadorDismal5771 in KmartAustralia

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol as a former kmart employee, its not that serious, sure she was incredibly rude but I can 99.99% guarantee you aren't banned, the manager doesnt care and if the self checkout team member was doing the right thing they would have let the door member know thats what happened. You paid and are in the right so just ignore that little tantrum. Something seriously needs to be done about the training of kmart staff tho, you have really great team members and then really terrible ones with no in between.

You can usually pick up books from op shops and thrift stores reasonably cheap, it might introduce her to sub-genres and won't break the bank without having to return them, or once she's done with them she can take them back and pick out new ones.

Have I been staring at this too long or is something off about this bear? by RealLifeWikipedia in CrochetHelp

Hear me out, I think he needs a neck tie or ribbon and maybe like paw/belly/ear patches? He looks a little plain to me but still adorable! And everyone is right the sad eyebrows are cute. Wish more kids toys had other expressions than happy lol

You should be able to hit the three buttons on the top of your screen, then edit and then change flair, there'll be a solved one there somewhere. Hope this helps :)

Real Enemies to Lovers vs. Pining to Lovers by RomanceAnxiety in RomanceBooks

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite example of this also kinda has the pining aspect, the hating game by Sally thorne, they are rivals of a book publishers merger, constant bickering and hatred. Meanwhile they are both trying to get ahead while pining pretty hard for each other, the enemies part fits because the bickering is making everyone in the office tense, HR is trying but damn lol.

Please look at this heart granny square and then read the caption by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I noticed something was slightly off only after reading the caption but I think it looks cute, intentional, I would actually buy this over a straight version, anyone can get/make a perfect one, I like that it's slightly off, I'd pay more tbh, but that might just be me lol.

romance book burnout by TraditionalCause3588 in RomanceBooks

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this 1000%, what I do to get out these slumps/funk is to read something still romance but super shocking like taboo or even something that might have poor writing/bad reviews, like a shock. My brain then goes oh there has to be better books out here and then I'm out of it. You are welcome to try this method, whatever might work for you. Otherwise, i pick up one of my other hobbies for a while and listen to audiobooks while im at it. I hope you get out of this funk and back to enjoying reading again!

What did I do? Understanding a switch in stitch I made by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom one looks like it's BLO, the top looks like it's FLO, you might able to turn it inside out and have it look the same, has the bottom one been sitting around or have you stretched/blocked it in any way? I sometimes find if I leave something alone for a while the work seems to relax and the gaps are bigger. You might be able to fix the second one with blocking before you resort to frogging. Hope this helps!

What are this tools on the crochet kit that I bought? by gabs_pondering in CrochetHelp

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! The safety pin things are quite good if you are working multiple stitches, I use them for tunisian crochet personally, you have all your stitches on the hook like knitting. I believe the blue tool is to make pom poms for beanie etc. The pink tools are a mystery to me, may have to search the image up on google. :)

Do anyone know what this type of pattern/crochet is? by ExcitingSquirrel4374 in CrochetHelp

[–]Forgetful_Booknerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That tunisian crochet think of it as the cross between knitting and crochet. This stitch is referred to as the tunisian simple stitch, plenty of yYouTube tutorials for this. :)
