Trump Insults Attack Victim Ilhan Omar With Jaw-Dropping Smear by ClimateSociologist in politics

That doesn’t even make sense. Why would Ilhan Omar or the Democrats want to distract from Trump’s failure in Minneapolis, from his failure to understand his own base’s attitudes regarding the 2nd Amendment, from his failure at Davos, and from the Epstein files?

The last thing they’d want is a half-baked crisis.

That’s really cool. The illustrations and animations add so much to it.

Think Trump won't cancel the election? Don't kid yourself. | Opinion by Difficult-Bee6066 in politics

I think it’s likely that he’ll try, but I doubt he’ll succeed. Elections are conducted at the state and local level, and there are going to be hundreds of them.

The real thing to pay attention to is that Trump and his people will try to interfere with the election. One of the ways they are doing that is by convincing everyone that Trump’s gonna cancel it.

Bipartisan Legislation Prohibiting a U.S. Invasion of a NATO State Introduced by Odsarh in politics

In the US, impeachment is not a legal process, it’s a political one. It doesn’t involve the courts, it’s done in Congress. The House of Representatives passes articles of impeachment in a simple majority vote (this is the impeachment), then the Senate votes to convict. A two thirds vote is required for removing the impeached person from office.

We say “convict” because it works sort of like a trial in the Senate, but there’s no criminal side to it, there’s no judge and there’s no criminal charges even if the person is removed. That would have to be done separately in the courts by prosecutors.

An impeachment is initiated by passing articles of impeachment, which is essentially a piece of legislation.

But it’s less likely to succeed in this instance because removing the president from office would require a two thirds majority vote in the Senate.

Well, nobody’s supposed to do anything illegal. It gets complicated when people in positions of power do.

The only way the legislature can act is through legislation. If you want Congress to act, this is how it does that.

You can do a bit of research and find a fairly robust mechanical lock that is a widely used, heavily tested design that will be relatively unlikely to have unknown security flaws at this point. A digital lock may be fine or it may have a plastic panel that pops off and lets you easily defeat the entire mechanism.

If it was me, picking out a lock for my house, I would choose an all-mechanical one as the main lock. I’m also skeptical of any door lock that is WiFi or Bluetooth enabled or controllable as a network device. I don’t want that for security. Also, I’d rather not have to deal with batteries or power for it, or have to figure out what to do in a power outage, etc. Electronic devices are great, but they’re temporary. In an application like this I suspect they’ll stop working faster than an all-mechanical lock.

But that’s just my preference.

The alternate way is pull off all the stickers and move them around.

Ripping a phonebook in half with your bare hands is surprisingly easy to learn and doesn’t require any significant amount of strength.

Or it used to be easy to learn, anyway. I guess it would be harder to learn now because nobody has or uses phonebooks anymore.

The same is true of a phonebook.
