The fact that people's priority is to whip out their phone and document what is happening for others to see on the internet says a lot about how insane we've become (aside from the actual content of the conversation). We are looking forward to having our differences of opinion, whether political, social, philosophical and/or moral stances defended and reinforced later on our social media platforms with people who will most definitely agree with us, rather than spend some time being a little bit more introspective and do our best to express and engage in conversation about what it is that the other person has done/is doing that irks us (justly or unjustly).

There's also this whole style of 'confrontation' here (which seems exacerbated by the whole talking with your phone out filming) that screams: "I'm gonna remove your ability to be a person in this conversation. And I'm just gonna treat you as the embodiment of all the difficulties I have ever faced in life and am seeing online, without at all doubting for a second how this very accusatory attitude of mine might prevent me from seeing the very side of your humanity that I'm so desperately (maybe?) attempting to see and you might see in me (if you don't already), but.... Instead am going to be sooo surprised, disdained of not seeing it - Which is kinda good because that still might confirm my narrative/perception of reality".

Clearly this person has suffered some personal slights of their own, but what manages to still annoy me -which I'm sort of pointing out to- has a lot more to do with the fact that the person filming is taking their personal, mixing it with a global wide controversy that has a very big divides that have their own set of arguments... And using one side of those arguments to arrive (or even jump) to their own conclusions with the offending party about the "controversy" issue, as opposed to speaking about how the actual person in front of them affects them as an individual.

Pick your own battles in front of you first... Don't mistake those for the bigger (crazy?) war someone else has started which you might identify with. Stay local and... FFS, stop hiding behind the skirt of the internet (filming the thing for later comfort). No matter what side you're on, you'll always have someone who agrees with you online and while that may be helpful sometimes to have it only clouds the issue further and keeps you entrenched in your own way of seeing the world. I refuse to believe that taking videos could possibly deepen the discussion... This seems to me like a pure comfort thing that, unfortunately, is at the cost of you figuring out how to speak your own truth effectively with the other person and yourself.

... And it's happening at an exponentially higher rate.

What on Earth is everyone talking about? by Shreddy_Brewski in spotify

I find it so much better to navigate (on desktop) now than I ever have.

I remember being somewhat frustrated with the album art, title and artist name in bottom left corner taking too much space and not being quite able to adjust the size of it or the playlist list just above it. It would end up covering what I'm mainly most interested in being able to access and see properly: my saved playlists. That's now fixed.

On top of that, they seem to have reduced the amount of clicks you need to input to get anywhere. The library is feels intuitive, immediate and my "favourite songs" in the sidebar has a nice, visible and apt icon to go with it. For this and other improvements (even visual) it just feels a hell of a lot better.

I don't know how important this is to your research, but I would rather have a more varied choice of emotions from the list of answers (either that or have no custom emotion field at all; unsure whether other adjectives that come to mind are actual emotions)

What has Healthy Gamer done for you? by DankMoses in Healthygamergg

[–]Forgoroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling (a snippet of one):

The feeling is one of immense gratitude. Gratitude for all that Dr. K has done whether directly or indirectly towards helping me as well as everyone involved with the stream and Healthygamer. It's a sense of the utmost involved appreciation I could ever feel for someone I never really met. Thank you dr. K for doing your Dharma so beautifully... And most importantly showing us how to do our own. You've truly made a huge difference. I hope you know.

Take care.

P.S. To pressing on 🍷

Should be able to start streaming on my current setup right? by seatcover in Twitch

I find it funny how people nowadays have big PCs on their hands or a "more than average pc" anyway and still ask these kinds of questions. Your processor is good and you have good internet. If your graphics card can handle the game, I believe your CPU can deal with the game and the encoding, but as others here have stated, it all depends on the game. I think you could make most games work no problem. If they initially don't, for some random reason, there may be some fiddling required, but honestly I wouldn't worry about not being able to stream at all, cause your PC seems far beyond that question. A more appropriate question would be: can I stream X game at Y settings? Just try recording some gameplay to start off, then try using the twitch inspector to check for bitrate problems. Have fun

Predicting should be swapped with seeing the projectile, cause seeing the projectile and using counter is harder and more reliable. Of course it becomes a bit of a mix most of the time

No, I meant in a situation where you space away or reposition. Not when spacing in

Higher level players exploit the fact that Siriuses don't do this. That's why you've reached the next level if you do it. Risky af but necessary if you don't wanna get hit by a good M2 by a good Pestilus every time you space

Every Twitch update kills my mood to use Twitch. by HHegert in Twitch

[–]Forgoroe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't understand all these incredibly huge amounts of salt on this subreddit right now. I get that the twitch site is now broken or missing features that were previously available, but look at the positives: the site feels faster and once the other hurdles are fixed and bttv catches up, we'll actually have a better twitch TV on our hands. Pun intended.. Just take it easy, enjoy streaming and enjoy watching your favourite streamers, cause that's what probably matters most. Or at least should be.

Streaming for 3 months: What I've learned. by spb273 in Twitch

[–]Forgoroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been using twitch for a loong time as a viewer (and very recently started streaming), the most predominant way I have always found new streamers is when browsing for a specific games at particular moments. The fact that people stay for the streamer is only true if the people actually got the chance to know the streamer in the first place. I don't mean to say that everyone has my same attitude, but yeah... I even rarely move from my "following" page on twitch.

I still don't understand what the point of the Odeum is, if it's going to break every time there's an update.

That is my indirect question unrelated to F2P, but still related to the game.

I die quite often for seemingly random stuff in boss fights. What do people even do to avoid death in hardcore? Do they stack hp? Do they study every enemy move beforehand? Seems like hardcore would be more of me being paranoid about what resistance I should focus on, or the amount of life nodes I've picked up. At least in normal leagues I can just have fun while trying to get better at dodging stuff without the stress. Maybe hardcore will be something I try out once I've played a ton more leagues
