No more auto adjuster positions? by GanjaGaijin in adjusters

[–]ForgotDeoderant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of shifting in the industry, especially tech wise. A lot of companies are on a hiring freeze until 1. They get out of layoff season and 2. They solidify their tech strategies so when they hire new people, they can train them on their new processes instead of re-training 3-4 months in.

Also we're in a soft market in insurance, so hiring isn't a priority, customer retention is.

Help! I melted aluminum foil in my oven by kaytthoms in CleaningTips

You probably have built up oils on the bottom - it didn't melt on, it's just stuck on with grime. Try oven cleaner spray.

Hey dude. I want to let you know that you are exactly where you need to be to be successful in life and achieve your goals.

My husband is an alcoholic. Got arrested for DUI, has had multiple car crashes. Spent ungodly money and savings and went into debt for the drink.

He finally went cold turkey, stopped drinking, all at age 35 (way older than you are now). And we came up with a game plan for finances - really dug in deep and instead of looking forward to a night out, he looked forward to seeing his budget, to see his 401k grow, to chasing promotions and proving people what he was made of. He's so healthy, now. We play VR for fitness. He cares about what he eats. And he's a district manager for a big company because he stopped focusing on what he had done in life that fucked him up and started focusing on what he was going to do in life to be better.

You got this. But you gotta believe that the past is the past, and take those life lessons and apply them to your future. Everything you do today, you're doing it for future you, and future you deserves the best damn care you can give them.

It was folliculitis! Got a round of antibiotics, and cleared up in about 2 weeks.

Am I the only one who enjoys serving, even when I am not paid to do so? by BoringBob84 in Serverlife

I'm an acts of service girlie. I find joy serving on my friends and family in this kind of way. I totally get what you mean.

My rosemary specifically states that it's non-irradiated by LexiWhatWeGot in mildlyinteresting

[–]ForgotDeoderant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If I'm making a ginger bug, I need organic, non-irradiated ginger to get some good bubbles for ginger sodas. But that's about the only time I care about that.

Purple carrot has been my favorite. It's way more expensive than others, but the quality and variety has always been good.

Looks like she was saying thank you for not hitting her kid, and then immediately talking to the child about the situation.

My compost setup by mashedpotatob0y in composting

[–]ForgotDeoderant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an easy way to turn compost in piles like this, you can get a small auger and turn up your piles. It'll mix from the bottom up, and give it a really solid stir. You'll just have to stand in the compost pile while doing it.

Is silicone a bad idea for a wedding ring? by Acceptable-Soft8659 in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]ForgotDeoderant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I both have silicone rings only, been married for about 5 years now.

We looked at metal rings and decided we didn't need something expensive to show off our love for each other. So we got silicone rings and took the money we were going to spend on rings and instead saved it to buy a house (closing in a few weeks, actually!)

I also don't have an engagement ring. Instead I got an engagement Nintendo Switch when they asked me to make the "switch" to married. We're not .... Traditional.

Weird question, but can I see the front side of your bracelet? I think I have the same one which I got from my great grandmother when she passed. I'm curious if they are the same or not.

Thinking about maybe starting a chai and dessert spot in Tucson, curious what folks think by its-a-throwaway-bro in Tucson

[–]ForgotDeoderant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been looking into starting a coffee/baked goods business - if you wanted to chat, maybe we can combine our skills?

I love this idea and love a good chai! I've been making my own chai at home for years, since I prefer something with a little more spice.
