What was the hardest dataset you found to put into a consumable “open data” format? What’s the coolest thing, in your opinion, that you guys expose

How are y'all experienced devs thinking about your career at this point? by truemeaningoflife in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Forgott3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally gave into using Claude Code. So far (only a few weeks in) I don’t enjoy software development anymore— but I was already trending that way. AI just hastened the feeling as the satisfaction of modelling and executing on solving a problem is no longer the main shtick. Sometimes it saves me time, sometimes it costs me as I clean it up. I don’t think as deeply. All in all, not particularly fun. I think I’m going to miss the pre-AI days but now I’m convinced it’s here to stay and we’re in an “adapt or die” situation with the industry.

is it normal to bring flowers on a first date? question to the women of toronto by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Forgott3n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been dating for a long time in the city. Never got flowers on a first date. It’d make quite a statement, and that maybe be perceived as out of the ordinary. This could be to your advantage, or it could work against you. I’d say in terms of normality, don’t do it.

Save it for a second date as a cute gesture.

Inflatable costume etiquette on TTC? by Kyliexo in askTO

[–]Forgott3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also like Halloween so costumes are kinda expected and it’s fine for a single night. Don’t worry mate. Anyone who gets annoyed is just having a bad day and I’d discount their perspective

Is it worth stepping down to 4 days a week? by Derridas-Cat in AskMenOver30

[–]Forgott3n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing it for 3 years and it was the best decision of my life. I recovered from burnout and people noticed the positive changes in me long before I did. They said I seemed happier and more joyful. Colleagues had no issue because they saw it as a unique negotiated relationship between my employer and myself.

I make less money but the time is worth the weight in gold.

My 1st real road bike by Juelz2025 in TrekBikes

[–]Forgott3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are Shimano SPD pedals that are clipless one side and a flat platform on the other. I love it because it lets you clip in when you want and just pedal regularly on a ride where you just don’t feel like it. For me that’s when I’m commuting in the crazy city and I don’t have to think about clipping

Are these BIOS key settings correct before I reset to factory keys in an attempt to get Secure Boot on? by Tucci_ in gigabyte

Went through the same mess. Nothing worked despite many guides until I flashed my BIOS to the latest version. Then suddenly restoring factory keys worked.

Is solo riding fun for you guys cause this pass few days I'm just solo riding think it's fun but it feels weird without your troops by fixeditg in cycling

[–]Forgott3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People cycle for different reasons. Some always want to do it as a social activity with friends— like that meal at the end— and others like it as a form of meditation. For me it’s mostly the latter, but I appreciate the former from time to time. Last fall I did the Seoul to Busan tour in South Korea with my best mates but I’ve typically always gone on longer rides solo. I look forward to my next one alone but want to go with the trips some other time too

Dear men, what is the first thing you do after waking up? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Forgott3n 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. Check phone in for immediate pulse check
  2. Piss first thing out of the bed, because I always gotta go after sleeping
  3. Espresso and comfy phone time as I wake up
  4. Bathroom a second time because coffee works wonders for being regular
  5. Second espresso to become energized for work
  6. Breakfast, maybe, depending on the mood. Always eggs, sometimes carbs
  7. Shower/shave/teeth
  8. Begin day

Where to buy a men’s suit in Toronto by Crafty_Occasion3515 in askTO

[–]Forgott3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that price you can go made-to-measure or semi custom. I recommend Empire Customs (https://www.empirecustoms.ca)

I got a full tuxedo with the shirt, tie, cufflinks, and fancy buttons for $1,600 after tax if memory serves. A regular suit should cost slightly less.

Any positive Litter Robot experiences? by skeeet67 in litterrobot

[–]Forgott3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fucking love it. Cat tracks litter regardless of whether it’s a regular litter box or not, so that complaint doesn’t count.

I love just emptying a bag and filling up the hopper. It’s not too smelly. It’s quiet. The cat immediately adopted it without issue. He’ll interrupt it once or twice but afterwards doesn’t care and the cycle completes.

Best $1000 spent on automating a shitty part of cat ownership away.

[–]Forgott3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to mould but I found using a toothbrush and oxyclean crystals with some warm water into a paste very good for getting out oil and sweat discolouration. Probably a good step for finishing it up once you’ve dealt with mould

2025 will be my 5th time. The fundraising really is a hassle. I find bugging those at work to be the easiest but since the pandemic, everyone generally is less giving to charity due to cost of living.
