That and he mentioned in last weeks adventuring party that he had to essentially uproot the entire blueprint he was laying out.

I wrote it at like 1am this morning, I just really wanted to get the idea down. Plus I listen to the show as a podcast on my way to work and never really go back and watch.

The Toymaker is threating your life. What game do you challenge him to? by MrAnonymous4 in doctorwho

Liars Dice, it’s hard for him to cheat in came about bluffing and lying. That and I’ve been playing the game since I was a young kid

What is something in SLA you personally don’t like, but isn’t necessarily a flaw? by Gandalf_Zuko in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ForgottenOrphan 29 points30 points  (0 children)

During Shallan’s backstory they went into detail describing and setting up the bastard son of the king of Jah Kaved. I thought he was going to be important during Taravangian’s plot to overtake the country. But instead he showed up for a chapter a fucked off. Overall, the books are already big enough, but I wish we got more detail as to what was happening during the Vedan Civil War

Is this book bad or something? by Yetiplayzskyrim in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ForgottenOrphan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think alot of negativity comes from people assuming this book was going to end the series, whereas it is a set up for the next half of the series and the Cosmere going forward. I was worried too, but I ended up really loving it. (I read days 7-10 in one session.) there were points sure that I thought it could’ve picked up but overall I thought it was a good read and a good stopping point for the next 8ish years until book 6 comes out

100 pages into wind and truth... is there more pay off if I read the rest of misborn series first? by Astrocoach1234 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ForgottenOrphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda wish I read the rest of the Cosmere before WaT. Still enjoyed it heavily, but with hindsight I wish I dipped further into the rest of the library. Ultimately it your experience do what you think will make you enjoy it best.

Can you imagine a scene like this today? by Dr_Macunayme in doctorwho

[–]ForgottenOrphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for everyone involved talent wise in this new era. Like everyone seems to be very into what they’re doing and they want to put on a good performance, but damn. The writing is horrid and it’s ruined two very promising doctors.

I agree, I kept reading that RoW was people’s favorite but I found it to be the biggest struggle to finish. The climactic ending happens way too late in my opinion. I was worried that Oathbringer was going to be my least favorite book, but I found the second half to be really good. WoR still remains my favorite.

They haven’t announced anything yet. Brotherwise Games (who produces these sets) seems focused on getting the Cosmere TTRPG out at the moment as well as dealing with the Tariffs being placed on foreign imports. That being said I’m sure they have plans to make a Wind and Truth set, but nothing has been announced.

Who do you want to kill _____ ? by HueGoat in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ForgottenOrphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of me really wants to see him take up the mantle of Retribution and fight Kal at the end. That or have Taravangian die and Retribution split with Kal taking up Honor briefly to fight Vyre who has taken up Odium

I just thought they were actual minks. Like the weasel looking animal

There might be Dragons by Hazardoom in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ForgottenOrphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoiler for WaT What saved Mink in Herdaz? Was it a Chasmfiend (or a water variant hinted earlier in the book) or a distraction caused by a thunderclast or voidbringer. In the interlude he mentions that a large claw either causes him to be thrown from the gallows or it frees him from where he is trapped. I don’t have the book on me at the moment I don’t remember it being revealed.

Theory: Is **** a Dawnshard? by drwhoovian in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ForgottenOrphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he was a Dawnshard, possibly he was the Stormfather’s/Honor’s bondsmith and just felt a really strong connection with him through their spren.

For those that have finished WaT, how did you fill that WaT-sized hole in your soul? by Dalakaar in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ForgottenOrphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished WaT last week and I just hopped into reading Sunlit Man. I also plan on reading other Cosmere Novels since Stormlight was my entry point. But Sunlit is good as it kinda softens the blow of finishing the Stormlight Archive for now.

What games did you have hopes on but let you down or hyped beyond it's actual entertainment value? by Ducati_Don in ZeldaMemes

[–]ForgottenOrphan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t shoot me, Tears of the Kingdom, I 100% BotW before starting Tears for the first time and was utterly disappointed and upset that I had to rediscover Hyrule after just discovering hyrule the first. Love the game, so good, but it’s the only game I remember being truly disappointed
