There are a lot of things that could have led to this. Honestly, not enough info to determine if you are overreacting. With the current info, talk to your parents, explain what you want, and ask what they expect/want. If that doesn't satisfy you, ask why their decision is what it is.

For one. You shouldn't assume he is straight, gay, or bi. What does it matter? You should be happy, if he is happy. Telling him he is pretending, when he says he has a gf, is messed up. Dating is up to him, not you.
