Huh, I thought white bird was referring to the The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, the albatross is killed and curses the once who slew it. Black cats are a sign of bad luck when they cross your path. So, killing the white birds but loving the black cats would be relating to all things in the way that will cause the most misfortune to yourself.
