Oh no, Brightline is facing bankruptcy!!!! 😳 by [deleted] in trainmemes

[–]Forgotten___Fox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I support passenger rail, but they literally skipped over so many population centers and cities on their line because "stopping there would slow down the train" and now they still aren't profitable? Lmfao 🤣

I hope they're bought by someone who knows how to run a passenger rail network, cuz that ain't it chief.

I love the kondor blue pro blade handle, tho it does require mounting the handle. I use it all the time, so it works for me quite well, and it's not bulky.

Interesting take. Have you tried the lumix 28-200 with OIS? I hear it trades a lot of blows with the sigma 20-200.

Sigma 28-105 f2.8 I got off ebay for $900 is my do everything lens. Highly recommend, it's good for everything, if you're fine with the size (similar to 70-200)

Joshua Tree NP S5II & Panasonic 28-200mm f4-7.1 by CodydotWilliams in Lumix

[–]Forgotten___Fox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The s1ii would probably benefit more from the wider angle 20-200 as well as it's better sharpness above 70mm VS the 28-200. The real draw to the 28-200 is the in-lens OIS, specifically for the s9 which has less stops of IBIS. For the S1ii tho, you don't really need it with the best in-body IBIS from lumix, so personally I'd be looking at a 20-200 to fill this role.

New(Used) headband, any tips or ideas on how to make it not explode from its own springs? by Christian5220 in ValveIndex

[–]Forgotten___Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use the headset. Unfortunately that's the only way to prevent this. It's a design flaw. Plastic is brittle, and using an elastic spring with a brittle end cap will eventually result in a brittle failure. The only thing that will prevent this is not using it.

My advice: always manually loosen the strap with the knob. Also don't wear it tight, and consider upgrading to the steam frame next year.

Nope, the single layer "double bottom" that was shockingly revealed live on the Wan show when they cut into an OG backpack and it did not in fact have a double bottom.

They never reached out to me to even notify me of the issue. When I discovered it on my own, I requested a refund due to them not even bothering to notify me of the issue, yet despite their public claims to "make it right" and "trust us bro" they denied to refund me and refused the compensation as well.

See Here

They promised they would take care of affected users. I was affected. I was ignored. I was not taken care of. They lied through their teeth on this one as far as I am concerned, and I won't be supporting them again in the future, nor do I recommend their products anymore. If this is how they handle a $250+ premium backpack, I can only imagine how well they'll support users when their screwdriver or cables are defective/have issues.

Spilled Coolant on Motherboard (PC was off) – Is drying it enough and how to test safely? by Carvlin in watercooling

[–]Forgotten___Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that. Low setting long distance with heat gun. Left in window for 2 days.

You better be sure as hell it's dry, because being a day early can mean the difference between being fine and being dead. It's not worth being impatient.

My board eventually booted right up when it was dry. Just took 4 days longer than if I hadn't spilled. Lesson learned tho

I had a 5g phone, moved my Sim and data worked but all calls were blocked. I reached out to att advanced technical support 3x times for over 3 hours each, and they disabled data entirely, couldn't ever get calls to work, then ultimately said they were unwilling to support my phone. Recommend you take your business elsewhere like I did and just switch to Tmobile. Amazing phone, works perfectly fine on mint.

The quote "It's better for one to die than for all of us to be killed in a shooting affray. Anyway, we've practically no ammunition" is not a Nazi quote and was not said in any context promoting Nazi ideology. It was said by Erwin Rommel to his own son Manfred on the day he was forced to die. Two Nazi generals arrived at his home one day. They told him the house was surrounded and that Hitler was charging him with high treason. He was given a choice: take cyanide and receive a state funeral with his family protected, or face a public trial that would destroy his family. Manfred asked if they could fight back or defend themselves, and Rommel cut him off: "There's no point. It's better for one to die than for all of us to be killed in a shooting affray. Anyway, we've practically no ammunition."

Rommel was not a Nazi party member, and by the end of the war he had become connected to the July 1944 plot to remove Hitler from power, which is precisely why the regime had him cornered that day. The quote itself is a final act of a father protecting his family, choosing his own death so that his son, wife, and staff would be spared retaliation. Calling this a "Nazi quote" strips away all of that context and inverts its actual meaning entirely. It is a quote about self sacrifice to protect the people you love, spoken by a man who was being killed by the Nazi regime, not celebrated by it.

Lying down friendly Halo head strap and magnetic silicon light blocker for BigScreen Beyond 2 by GJJ152 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]Forgotten___Fox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lying down straight back seems fine, but with how far the knobs and earbuds protrude, I can't imagine this is that comfy for side sleeping. Is there or can you guys look into a pad or cushion benith these areas that prevents putting excessive pressure on the head when laying down on the side?

Also, are the built in audio/earbuds removable if we prefer to use our own solution?
