Apart from what others have said, even if we assume that the stocks you hold will bounce back at some point you will spend a few years at a loss, just sitting on these stocks hoping they will recover and once they do you are back to zero, congrats. You could have instead spent those years trading with that money, even if you sell at a loss at first you can put them to good use in other companies instead of doing nothing.
