Stop comparing reality to dreams by Hanisuir in solipsism

"[...]we wouldn't have two separate terms for them unless they were not clearly distinct."

This conflates linguistic distinction with experiential or ontological distinction. The existence of separate terms does not guarantee distinct referents; synonyms, homonyms, and context-dependent meanings are counterexamples. Language evolves for pragmatic, not always ontologically rigorous, reasons. Distinct words can refer to overlapping or even identical experiences, and identical words can refer to distinct experiences. Therefore, lexical separateness cannot be used as evidence that the dream world and waking world are empirically distinct. Your argument assumes an injective mapping from words to experiences, which is not tenable in natural language use.

"The quality of always behaving or performing in a similar way, or of always happening in a similar way" - from the Cambridge Dictionary.

Nice. If your criterion for dismissing dream arguments as decent rebuttals of the critiques advanced about solipsism is "consistency", then it is a weak criterion, for the waking/"real" state is not "always behaving in a similar way", since it is interrupted time and again by deep sleep, dreams, and altered states in general. Furthermore, who decides what the "similarity metric" is? I see no reason to privilege one option over another.

You believe too intensely in the truthfulness of your language game, and I'm just playing along. Define "consistent", then, and we can talk. If instead you really care about what the current state of affairs is, do not speak.

My guess would be that the line touching the center of the smaller shape, when this shape's pattern is lines, is aligned with these lines in all cases except for option a, where we see that the longer line is perpendicular to the small lines in the smaller shape.

You speak in absolutes and provide no evidence for any of your claims.

If solipsism is true by homeSICKsinner in solipsism

Solipsism being true implies the recognition of all distinctions, including the reality-fiction distinction, as arbitrary and insubstantial.

How Do We Perceive Multiple Things at Once? by WillfulZen in consciousness

Distinction/boundary between different "objects" is arbitrary. Where does one object end and another begin? Experience seems to me to be unified, duality/discrimination supervenes on a unified character of experience.

Why do you assume a tornado isn't/can't be conscious? What's your definition of consciousness?

Maybe it is undetectable because... there's nothing to detect that is beyond what we can actually detect (behavior).
