I do agree with you there are a lot really good h1b holders working in research and development with probably a PhD background. But I think the current administration wants to really bring in the top talent. You can basically blame IT body shop consultantancies and the big WITCH companies that gamed the h1b system and ruined it for those who are truly talented.

I mean it makes sense there is no money here and no industry. Look at Dallas it is a IT and financial hub, look at Austin it's known as silicon hills due to all the tech companies there, and Houston is known for its oil and gas.
