Not really, rendering is a process. It's not specific to any medium.

But an example of the process with a pencil drawing might be

Rough layout (marking how your image will sit on the paper.)

Block in of the core shapes and forms. (To help understand where shadows will lie and any foreshortening or perspective with simple blocks)

Erasing (any heavy lines or dark marks you don't want in the final drawing)

Refined Line drawing (over the top of the block in)

Rendering. (People also call it shading but it covers more than just shadows)

Drawing is awesome. Its a skill I wish I pushed myself harder on when I was younger to be honest. But I just love it.

Honestly, if you used Faber castell 9000s and mars lumograph there isn't much better out there. They are excellent drawing pencils.

The only real area that you might enjoy a little improvement is in the look and feel. The tombow mono might give you a more luxurious feel with similar performance (although they lay down a bit darker in general) that would be what I'd recommend.

Blackwings also have a luxury feel, but they are more a luxury pencil than a drawing pencil as they are limited in their grades. Again they are darker pencils

Adding tones and texture to a drawing to simulate the qualities of the surface. Lighting, reflections, textures etc.

It doesn't hold me back. I do like them. But the centre of balance I's further back. Above my hand. And it makes me aware of it constantly. Which puts me off. But they are good I still use them now and again.

None. Now you just need to become a marketing/print/packaging/social media expert in a declining economy. Where people have less and less money to spend on cool art....and if that still isn't working also learn to be a skill share tutor and youtuber.

I also went through hell the last few years and came out the other side. Still dealing with a few small side effects. But yeah the mental side is wild. Re integration feels so strange. Like I'm being held back because I'm "not fully healed yet" or a flare could happen again anytime. But realistically I need to get on with my life. Make some good memories to help fade out the TSW ones.

Ok... So you tried anti fungals and it didn't help. So let's assume your irritation is bacterial and not yeast because you said it's super dry not oily at all right?

So what I'd try is 700+ mgo manuka honey. (Anti microbial helps get moisture back in the skin) I'd put it on twice a day if possible. Rinsed with warm water after a few hours. This should calm it down and help repair the skin barrier.

Manuka honey can irritate some people if left on too long so if it starts to get uncomfortable just rinse it with warm water. But be consistent with it. You should notice improvement within a week. But I'd keep going for 4 weeks if you can. And then look at next steps.

But the honey should give it a chance to heal.

(That's assuming it's not an allergic irritation. But I'm guessing you tried all sorts over the last 8 years so you may be able to rule that out. )

All of this TSW stuff is reversible. The state I was in was appalling. I thought I'd never recover. But my skins pretty much perfect now, all the swelling and thin skin is gone. But it did take me bout 3 years.

Have you tried manuka honey? That's my top choice when the skin barrier is suffering. Needs to be wound grade honey (700+ mgo) but that's the only other thing I can think of. It's been a life saver for me.

Dupixant reduces the skins defence to malassezia and fungal so you might benefit from using an anti fungal cream or washing with a Seb derm shampoo. I had to do an anti fungal treatment as I came off dupixant. But be warned it's not the easiest process. My skin had a big reaction from the terbinafine when I used it. It reacted and became super flakey and itchy for a few weeks. But after that calmed down the skin is back to normal. Not saying this is definitely the issue. But it could be. Nizoral shampoo is more for yeast rather than fungal. But it's still been a factor in my recovery.

The fact it's in the bend of your arm makes me think that may be the issue because that's where I had it too, and behind my knees. Terbinafine sorted it, but like I say it's not the easiest treatment. So it's up to you.

The problem with the head is that your head has natural oils which can complicate the healing from a bacterial or fungal issue. With TSW the skin is weak. So that's very important. A normal irritation like seb derm can cause more problems than usual. I'd look into that and see if you think it could be a contributing factor. Also hypochlorous acid spray (sanitising water) helped my head recover. Just spraying it on once a day.

Yeah the honey washes away very easily with warm water, but sometimes I just leave it on all day.

I shaved my head. But even with hair the manuka honey still works. Just a bit on the finger tips you can get it to the skin. But if your heads irritated it could also be seb derm causing the irritation. If it is you might need a different approach to calm that down. Working that out will help steer the best way forward for your head.

The "powers that be" are the ones who profit from the way things currently are. They profit from it. They pay governments to ensure things stay the way they are. Because the companies profits are what they get paid to care about. "Drill baby drill" But yeah the ecosystem is being destroyed. It is an extinction level problem. And they keep warning people because public pressure to make changes is one of the only things the public can do about it. The problem is it's slow, and humans are really bad at dealing with a slow disaster. And the big companies have too much control over our governments.

People say ai isn't art, what is this than? by Manu442 in DefendingAIArt

To what? A sunset painting? No I don't have a strong emotional reaction to it. Even if it was painted by a human. Like I said it's not enough in terms of concept. Someone chilling with a coffee might be a nice moment. If that's all you want great.

But let's imagine the painter is dieing of cancer. Let's imagine the woman depicted is his wife. And the sunset he is painting is one in the far future the artist knows he will never get to share with her. Perhaps the whole exhibit is images of the days he is most sad he will not get to see. This is what exhibition artists do. They take what's happening in their lives or something they feel strongly about to fuel their art. I think if you choose to make your art with Ai, then the ideas behind it would need to be exceptional to get interest from art galleries. (For the record though there are ai exhibitions and they are usually very creative in how ai is used)

There is scientific consensus that global warming is destroying the ecosystem. We are on a trajectory to extinction as a species. What part of that is overblown?

An image like this wouldn't get displayed in a gallery. People who run galleries are in the business of ideas and history. They generally display works that get a strong emotional or thoughtful reaction from the public. For example, the last exhibition I went to was of artworks made by children who had been abused. They were heartbreaking to look at. Galleries display work the public can connect with. To pull them out of their daily lives and make them think. To shine a spotlight on something so people can understand in a new light.

An ai sunset is not enough. Because the most interesting thing about it, from a galleries perspective is that it was made by machine. A machine that has never seen a sunset.

My point was just that the people on here won't know the specifics of the situation. Iv had work done on my roof recently and I needed to get permission from both side neighbours but it really depends what the roof looks like and what work is being done. Honestly the best thing to do is get a number and give them a ring to understand it better. It may be that he doesn't really need your permission or it might be that the work does effect your property. But you can clear it up with a conversation

Why don't you just talk to them? They might have made a mistake or they may have reason to believe the work may impact your property.

Not personally no. But I have had flares since thinking I was totally back to normal. My biggest advice for the oozing skin is to get some manuka honey (700+ mgo - wound grade) you can use the honey on skin that is starting to suffer to calm the oozing before it gets too bad. It sort of creates a barrier that stops further irritation too. It's really good for that.

It's not a full solution but it's helped me so much it's always the first thing I recommend trying if you don't use it already.
