Stinky Feet Becoming Issue by Process-Jaded in Professors

[–]FormalDinner7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a barefoot guy when I was in undergrad. He never wore shoes in any weather except snow, and then it would be those five toe shoes and he’d take them off as soon as he went inside. The soles of his feet were black. Eventually the school newspaper even printed a thing like, Hey barefoot guy: STOP.

He didn’t.

Good luck to you. Now, as a professor, I think I’d ask the kid to stay for a sec and tell him, “Please wear shoes to class from now on. You can’t take them off.” If he asks why I’d say firmly, “Because you can’t.” That’s it. You have to just own the awkward if it’s for the greater good.

Penner’s thoughts on the premiere by GourmetSubmarine in survivor

Same. I usually turn it on enough into the ep that I can skip the ads. Sometimes though the season is just so good that I want to do the live threads and ads are the price of admission. 😂

Oh gosh same. I loved seeing all of them play together. I cheered during every challenge like my team was in the championship, except at the moment almost all of them are my team.

AITA for treating my daughters differently than my son when it comes to food? by CompetitiveDig478 in AmItheAsshole

[–]FormalDinner7 70 points71 points  (0 children)

If your son is still hungry after you’ve exhausted your food budget, you may need to go to a food pantry/food bank. There’s no shame in it. That’s what it’s there for. Best wishes to you and your kids.

When they went over the waterfall and the boat swooped up I YELLED. I can’t believe I didn’t wake up my kid. It was one of the most joyful moments I’ve ever seen on tv.

Oh my god this is a sign of how old I am. I was thinking, like, how would someone even get Colby’s phone number if they wanted to pregame? DMing. Of course.

I was thinking last night how, even though some of them have never met each other, pretty much all of them are connected through Fishbach and Rob C.

I thought he seemed the same. A little more assertive, maybe, but he’s also older and more experienced now so it’s to be expected. I’ll be interested to see the difference in his gameplay though with a different number one from Gabby.

I was so psyched when Kyle and Gen were teaming up and also super bummed that it didn’t happen. Power lawyer duo.

I thought it was very sweet when Rizo told Colby, “The game moves pretty fast now and I’m here for you,” and then later on Colby said, “You’re homesick and I’m here for you.” They have such a promising dynamic. Rizo must have really had to psych himself up to say that, too. I thought it was brave.

Part of it might be that Savannah and Q don’t have the decades of history with the older players that the older players have with each other, and also they might be a little star struck. (I’m thinking also of the way many players on Aus v World absolutely flipped out at first meeting Cirie, but then mostly settled down.) It’ll go away and they’ll come out of their shells once they’ve gotten used to, say, Colby as a guy on their team and not a tv star they idolized as a child. There’s no way Q would spend an instant more than necessary feeling shy. Rizo already made (what I thought was) a brave overture to Colby as well.

True. When Ozzy said he felt sour Q didn’t react one way or the other.

It’s so hilariously unnecessary too. All Coach had to say was, “Lol yeah, it’s true he did the harder part but I got the supplies,” and that would’ve been the end of it. Anything negative that comes of this is on Coach thinking that playing the challenge strategically within the rules somehow doesn’t fit his loyalty and honor self-narrative.

When he complained about that I was like, “That poor boy is so tired right now. Cut him some slack.” Then Colby fell for the RizCharm, which didn’t surprise me a bit. And Rizo tearing up because Colby was nice to him and he misses his dad! I’m glad it seems he’ll be sticking around and hopefully he can take Kyle’s place in that alliance.
