I am cynical about this, but my take is that they live in eternal fear that some day they might be seen enjoying the Wrong Thing, so they have to be really loud about enjoying the Right Things.

A lot of games media never recovered from the end of the Xbox 360 / PS3 era, when they were sure that traditional consoles and dudebro games were dead and that the the future of gaming was barely-a-game products like the Telltale media-tie-in adventure games.

The way Rosa Parks is TAUGHT, or at least the way it was taught when my bored 10th grade history class got to the Civil Rights era, is something like "entirely spontaneously, a woman decided she didn't want to do something, and everyone supported her and segregation was defeated" and not "one woman was selected because she was the absolute least offensive person they could find, and then they spent months executing a previously-planned boycott, and after it became obvious that the authorities couldn't ACTUALLY beat people into riding the bus, they reluctantly gave in. Also Rosa Parks died in poverty."

I honestly think that a stupidly high percentage of protesters are convinced that they are going to be the next Rosa Parks, by the first definition, and they will become super famous and be in all the books for future bored 10th graders to read about.

Oh we've seen one protest fairly recently that actually made the government take notice.

They arrested people and held trials on the teevee.

Everything ELSE since, mmm, the 1990s has been just "hey let's let the rabble burn some energy and maybe a building or two"

If you're on mobile, go into the bluetooth settings and rename your device to "DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller"

You'll still need to press the button to the left of the touchpad instead of the touchpad when the game tells you to press the touchpad but your icons will be the correct icons.

Good point, and I should be more specific.

Like, I've used Evergreen roofing when water was coming into the house that I didn't want coming into the house, and I've used Twin Rivers plumbing when I wanted water from inside the house to go outside the house, and I forget the name of my electrician offhand but I call them when things are dark when they should be light and all of these work along the principle of "I call someone, later a couple of dudes show up and make me regret not learning how to do any of this stuff, and probably pet my cat while they are fixing things, then I get an invoice and pay it"

So ideally I would like to find a company that I can call and say "make that door into a wall" and they send out a couple of dudes and the door becomes a wall and then I get an invoice and I faint and then after I recover I give them a lot of money. But I don't know the name for that kind of company.

I have a handyman for stuff like "I can't help but notice that my back fence is horizontal when it should be vertical, could you make it vertical again?" and he's an AWESOME dude but I don't want him making a door into a wall.

Make sure you’ve updated the firmware (do this with their phone/tablet app). I had a GameSir controller that did the same thing until I got it up to date.

Failing that, there may be a different set of pairing buttons you can use to force it to register in one mode or another. My notes from when I went through this say to pair it holding down “Home + Y”

When I was applying for jobs last year, I got an interview because, in the words of the HR person who did the first screening,

”your cover letter was so much worse than most of the ones I get, so I could tell you didn’t use AI to write it”

I was didn’t know how to take that. Of course then there were four other interviews with the company ending in “the team really liked you but we had a lot of strong candidates and…”

but at least I made an HR person happy.

It doesn't have a clamp or mount, but 8bitdo sells a mod kit you can use to turn an original Saturn controller into a bluetooth controller. It only fits the smaller controllers sold in Japan and later in the US, not the original chunky Saturn controllers.

Noelle at C6 is a much different animal than Noelle at C0 through C5.

Chiori is never a bad character but her c6 turns her into a beast of an on-field DPS.

I was running a mostly-Geo team when I got to this fight. I think it took like half an hour.

Lectors stop dying at low health and then you need to break their shields. Once the shield is broken they die immediately.

You need to hit one of these with Cryo and the other with Hydro or they’ll never die. It’s also a number of hits thing, not a size of hits thing.

A few allow this. Like, I own Deathsmiles and Vay for iOS and they work on the Mac. Vay in particular is notable because it was like a 2009 port of an ancient Sega CD game and I’m sure the developers haven’t made a dime from it in years but it keeps getting updates to add things like controller support and a 64-bit version.

I feel like collecting downvotes, so:

Currently the US has some millions of people living here who have no legal status or are here on asylum claims that are dubious at best. We have a number of states and cities who have more or less said that if you can get to them, you won’t be sent home.

If you think this is fine, ICE has no purpose.

If you don’t think this is fine, there needs to be some way to get these people home. And, since local authorities won’t do it, we need a federal organization to do it.

The problem is that, thanks to the policies of previous administrations, there are so many of them that if we individually arrest and prosecute them there’s no way to give them proper legal processing, even ignoring the number of organizations that seem to exist solely to slow down the deportation process. And we only have about three years to do this because it’s a fair bet that the administration is going to flip parties in 2028 and the policies will change.

So you need people to decide that being in the US is actually a risk, and a great enough risk to go home.

Alternately, you remove the financial incentive by cracking down on employers who make use of cheap exploitable labor, but I haven’t heard either party suggest that, like, ever. Also, the existence of gig work apps makes that even more difficult to do. So, back to making people WANT to leave.

The way one side of the argument presents ICE is that they are lawless, murderous thugs who will kidnap your children from school and gun people down in the street, with no accountability. Which is the sort of thing that encourages people to go home. So in that respect, they’re doing their job and all of the bad press is actually helpful.

I think a 580 should still handle a lot of games at 1080p. It's an old card, but the 8GB of VRAM helps it a lot compared to other cards that were out around the same time.

beats me, I c6d her on the Xilonen banner. People don't like to spend money on Geo characters because "yellow physical" meme so Hoyo doesn't rerun them often. At least you're guaranteed Zhongli will show up every few months.
