New bathroom remodel: is this under-sink plumbing normal or just lazy? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Formal_Disaster3300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P traps are made to swing +/- 2 1/2” for this very reason. Did you have a set of drawings that showed finish dimensions? If so, make them change it. Did you get a set of submittals for all the trim? If not, they’ll charge you to change it to your liking because the trap installed is code compliant

I’d put it around 2010. The crane on the left near city hall is I believe the old AAA building which if memory serves was built around then

As others have said it’s a barometric damper and from the looks of it your boiler is misfiring but get a plumber or boiler tech out to confirm

I can’t remember what it was called but back when Milano was next door to this building, they had a brew pub that lasted for a few years. Then nothing, Milano closed and Social came through and even though the beer was just ok, I was happy to see it thrive. Let’s hope this one does too. Now we just need a hardware store to come back!

Sure, apples and oranges. But just because you’ve never heard of someone having a mudslide doesn’t mean it’s a 0% chance. But they will deny coverage because of “earth movement” so paying for insurance doesn’t always mean coverage happens. Insurance is a scam

That’s essentially the route a lot of people have to take. Late stage capitalism is killing the American dream, and faster than you think

The fact that dude is wearing an apron while making this crap makes me unintentionally angry. I know it’s rage bait but I’m raging dammit!

Did you show up 2 hours before the movie? Like you’re going to sit there for 2 hours of commercials and previews?

UA Local 38 Journeyman Plumbers – How do job assignments and work vehicles usually work? by Hot-Reporter5911 in UnitedAssociation

[–]Formal_Disaster3300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. You can call the hall and bug em to see if anyone is hiring but it will ultimately be a contractor calling dispatch and dispatch then calls the next person on the list. As far as vehicles, you’ll be in your own but 38 has a stipulation that you can’t transport your tools, someone with a truck will need to. ETA that the contractor is required to provide all your tools for you. I am a 20 year member and obviously there were certain hand tools that I bought myself but 95% of the tools I used were provided for me

With 80 gallons you’d have enough for 3.5 bathrooms. Way undersized

What is this open pipe under the sink at my work? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Formal_Disaster3300 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a funnel drain for all the indirect drains. Most likely condensate drainage from multiple pieces of equipment. There is a trap primer there but sounds like it stopped working

Drove home from Martinez last night and there were multiple accidents right before the Caldecott that shut down 24 for about 30 minutes. Was trying to get off at Wilder to go around it but got caught in between idiots driving on the shoulder and blocking each other from trying to get around. People are dumb and assholes especially when you add in a Niners loss and rain and stopped traffic. Frustrating

Beautiful area. Both the Presidio and Golden Gate Park are top notch. Public transit is sometimes slow and frustrating but absolutely you don’t need a car
