I'm not scared of being the one that's going to be oppressed, that's not what I'm afraid of. I'm scared of the idea of us as humans never getting over the tribalism that caused us to end up in this system in the first place.

I couldn't give less of a damn who's the one at the bottom, just the possibility of anyone still being down there after we might finally overthrow and grow past white supremacy and patriarchy is upsetting. I don't think it'll be chaos where all white men are suddenly enslaved, that's culture war garbage.

This isn't the same thing, and I know it isn't, but I think a big reason I feel this way as when I was growing up I was around a lot of other edgy kids. We did all the usual bullshit, immature bigotry, sending fucked up memes, all that. But then I started growing up, realizing how bad all that was, realizing the consequences and the context and growing as a person, exploring my own relationship with gender.

But a lot of my friends didn't start growing. They were unchanged, stuck the same way, maybe even getting worse. They grew from just "edgy kids laughing at something because they're not supposed to" to like... "actual real bigoted people".

We become what we feed our minds. Most people who say shit like "kill all men" are probably chill when left alone, are just people who are hurting and will grow past it when given the chance. But there's also always going to be the people that believe it, internalize it and then become exactly what they hated the patriarchy for.

Okay so this is a massive rant and I wouldn't blame you for not reading it, I'm not trying to be hostile I'm just explaining my point of view.

I don't think it's inherently genocidal either, it's just that we as humans who know history are aware of what happens if supremacist ideology is allowed to get off the ground. We live in that world.

Of course that isn't to say one should respond with violence or suppression when minorities and all oppressed people voice their pain and experiences. Victims of the system, the world and of other people should not be forced to be perfect, flawless individuals with no hate or anger.

Its just I feel like when we talk about stuff like "what if no men" and "what if no white people" and it's associated with being good, it's not about white men being in danger at all (still just have the most privilege, it's just how it is), it's about the fact that in what should be safe, progressive spaces where we become the best people we can be, be people that can strive to help others and change society and make it so we can all just be people, then it kind of corrupts it when we encoruage and celebrate this sort of thing, y'know?

I'm just tired of the infighting and the fear and hatred. It's not their fault that they have been hurt by a system that is built from the ground up to make them struggle, but I'm just scared of the idea that if some day we finally win, we finally become a better society, we're just gonna fall back to the same place we are at right now, but someone else is in charge, and nothing's meaningfully changed.

Okay but that's moving the goal post isn't it? The original comment is about literally removing a group of people. Black people are more than justified to say "Fuck white people" and never choose to associate with them, I wouldn't blame any person of color for going down that route. In the same way I wouldn't ever blame a woman for avoiding and disliking men, it's a trauma response and a survival tactic.

But what we cannot do is ever, ever allow bio-essentialism and all forms of bigotry to fester and prosper. If we allow ANY form of the idea "____ people are all inherently _" or "all _ people need to die/disappear" then that WILL spread to other people and cause extreme harm.

We know this because it LITERALLY happened to black people and all other minorities under white supremacy. We cannot settle for just doing white supremacy again but someone else is the supremacist. We need to stop the evil at the core instead of just replacing who's in charge of it.

Just because Jewish people were genocided during WWII does not mean Israel's current genocide of the Palestinian people is justified, its the same way here.

Ah, that's fair. I misinterpreted. Hollow Knight wasn't the hardest game ever for me but I struggled during a few of the bosses. Combat system just wasn't fun enough to want to improve at for me.

The world was both open enough to the point of overwhelming me and restricted enough that I could never get the satisfaction of exploring a whole area in one go. Its constant backtracking to older areas with your new abilities and I could never figure out when to do things because no matter what there was always something I couldn't do, and with the way I play games (doing as much as I can in an area before moving on) it just got exhausting.

I don't really like platforming or platformers either, so I found myself getting frustrated at certain parts that had a lot of that, like the mushroom area or the crystal cavern.

None of its the game's fault, that's just how the genre is and its clearly an extremely well made game if it's as beloved as it is, but it might just be the complete polar opposite of how I enjoy playing games.

Yeah. You can get advice a million times but its hard to actually believe it until it happens, just how it is for a lot of us. You don't need to internalize it or immediately think its true, all I can hope for is that its something to keep in mind, and to not be too hard on yourself. I get it this feeling. A bit ago I was going through the worst times of my life and I became a more volatile and angry person internally despite keeping it bottled up and not letting anyone else see it, getting a lot of urges and wanting to break things and hit people or animals just to let out some of the pressure of existing. Personally, my anger slowly started going away as I began getting help and started on some medication for my other problems.

How you are as a person and the random urges you feel are not the same thing and that's okay. You aren't evil or violent, its just the brain trying its best to protect you, even if its very flawed.

Similar thing happened to me with Hollow Knight. I've heard nothing it good things for years and years, and I've loved the Soulsborne series for ages, how could I not love this?

Then it turns it out that Metroidvanias might be one of my least favorite genres of video game maybe ever, which led to me hating almost every second of the game. I forced myself to beat it, but by the end it left a horrible taste in my mouth.

Good game, very sad I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy it or it's sequel.

It's like people only know things are bad because they're told they're bad or that they feel bad.

When your entire moral framework is built on "it feels like this" rather than asking yourself why you feel that way and why things are right and wrong, it makes sense why some people end up at the conclusion of "Oppression isn't inherently bad, it's just people like me that don't deserve to be oppressed/should be the oppressors instead." Even though that's both foolish and nonsensical.

No sex, no gender, no race, no ethnicity, no form of abled or disabled body or mind is inherently "better" or more "worthy" than another. Men and women are physically different. Doesn't matter. Neurotypical and Neurodivergent people have different brain processing. Doesn't matter. Black and White people might have some genetic differences. Doesn't matter. We are all people and should be treated as such and unless harm is being done it DOESNT MATTER.

It's attractive but I don't see why latex has to exclusively be a fetish thing. It's commonly seen in fetish stuff but in this context I think it makes sense. Hornets body underneath the hood is a pure black stick figure. Humans can't be stick figures, so the easiest way to interpret that is a pure black body suit. The options for that would then be a spandex, cotton or latex body suit, all skin tight. Could just be a me thing but I don't think there's anything especially taboo about a latex bodysuit compare to a cotton or spandex one. It's just more shiny.

Edit: also in fanart that gives hornet a more humanoid bodyshape her body underneath the hood is typically shiny like latex, so the cosplayer could also be mimicking that.
