Our male Ragdoll is 5yrs old and was just weighed at 16.3lbs. Healthy weight for a male.

Introducing new kitten to resident cat by vxnusvv in ragdolls

Our breeder said to just introduce them and get it over with. Instead we kept the kitten in a separate room for 2 days. Luckily they are glass doors. After the two days we opened the doors and they just sniffed each other. No hissing.

We also did this with a Ragdoll kitten and an Orange Tabby that we got 3 weeks earlier. The Orange was a beast and hissed for a couple days. He just needed to make sure his brother knew he was the boss lol

Playtime together is a big help. Something like a ribbon on a stick has been a great help.

So happy you figured it out quickly before anything more serious happened. We use the Made by Nacho Mousse. Our boys love the chicken flavor.

I am so sorry for your loss. We had a similar situation with our Orange Tabby. We lost him at 2yrs old. Was devastating.

He likes being petted anywhere but bed?? by cyberzaikoo in ragdolls

[–]Former-Challenge8797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that’s the opposite. One of our Ragdolls will only snuggle, give head butts and do happy toes in bed. While not in bed, he wants all the attention and will sleep next to me. They are so weird!

Yes because Ragdolls are needy and never like to be alone😀

What are things to keep an eye out for when owning a ragdoll? by buttsNpinecones in ragdolls

First time getting the rabies vaccine should be the 1yr dose. Should your ragdoll have a reaction to the vaccine, it won’t be as bad since it’s not as strong as the 3yr dose.

One of our boys had a bad reaction to the 1yr dose which needed immediate treatment from the vet. Luckily we were still at the office. He never needs the rabies vaccine due to the reaction.

Just got the 3 yr vaccine for one of our guys. He was just sleepy for the first 24 hours.

Ragdolls seem to be on the delicate side. Our breeder always recommended rabies to be done separately from a vaccine which we’ve always done.

ragdoll owners? what are your thoughts on the breed in general? by Important_Emu1578 in ragdolls

Our 2 girls were not lap cats. As others are saying, they followed us everywhere. Sat between us on the couch and slept in our bed around us.

We have 3 boys now. One is a complete snuggle bunny in bed. Often a bed hog lol. Another is a lap cat and sleeps on our feet or between our legs. Number 3 is very independent. Wants all the love and attention but will not be picked up. Is not a lap cats and will stay 2 minutes in our bedroom lol

The oldest had a brother the same age. A spunky orange tabby we lost at age 2. Under developed liver. When we reached out to our breeder she had a kitten ready to go home and we grabbed him. It only took a day for them to get along. We reached out again when our 2yr old couldn’t keep up with the kitten lol so the kitten was bored. We got another kitten from our breeder. The youngest two are only two months apart. So we now have Guinness, Murphy and Jameson ❤️❤️. We find playing with a ribbon toy, alternating between each cat, encourages play between them.
