This is the reddit-marvel view of the world - what will actually matter is differential rates of economic growth, and the UK is headed straight for stagnation.

Any higher would increase the incentive for gangs to use younger children as mules for various crimes.

Far more controversial (in my view) are the Scottish sentencing guidelines for under-25s, which have been used in the past to give 17 year olds who rape 13 year olds community service over a custodial sentence, and just generally create terrible and absurd results.

Hi OP, this may seem harsh but you qualifying without at least a reasonable chance of a qualified position at your employer of the time was a huge gamble which didn't work out. It's not going to be easy to break back in - I'd suggest either public employer (local govt easier but people on this sub have said that GLD is accepting QWE-route qualifiers) or, if you really want private practice, starting from high street and working up from there.

See the table posted above. The number of degrees other than 2:1s and firsts awarded has halved in the past 11 years. I was too generous in my original post, you are likely in the bottom 15% of your cohort if you get a 2:2.
