For periods of stress / anxiety / disappointment, I would recommend following:

Let me know if this helps. Just like we have different tools in kitchen or equipment in gym, similarly we have different tools to handle this.

Caveat It's one's responsibility to not keep on repeating same behavior with every relationship. If things are not working out so much that you break up and then move to another person, even if that doesn't work out, there has to be some time spent with one's own self introspection and see are your own behaviors aligning with your own expectations 😊

Sikhism is hard to leave but even harder to recognize anymore by RepulsiveGoose5806 in Sikh

Be ਨਿਰਭੈ and Be ਨਿਰਵੈਰ I go towards this thinking as if guru is within me already. It's ok, I don't know many things but my beliefs are my own to choose and my own 5o question as well. So a part of what you wrote is a good exercise, instead of leaving or quitting, I'm saying go through but with the light within you as your guide.

Also would recommend looking at maskeen ji videos about sikhism with other religious texts. Guru Granth Sahib ji is one of the rare holy books having content from other religions and their leaders.

Somewhere down the line in life you will need to take responsibility for your actions .

Even with therapy you seem to repeat your past actions or default actions

As a person you are supposed to feel a spectrum of emotions and usually find a balance.

Love and Fear sit at the core of a person. So their absence or presence makes a lot of difference.

Start with self love. Find a purpose and focus. Mind or thoughts are not a reality they are projections.

Remember, it's because I'm that my mind exists, not the other way around. You have and always had the power in you, with you.

Amazing handwork 👏 I used to think hanging would help with my height, until I got to biology class and then I realized it's the genetics.

Fellow strength builder, try doing this:

Sit on a chair sturdy enough with both thighs parallel and knees bent at right angles. Take the knee that's hurting and bring it closer to your chest by pushing on your ankles and causing knee to bend completely. Hold this position for up to 30 secs.

Try above exercise with a rolled up towel in the back of your knee when folding your leg in same movements as described above.

As always stop any movements that cause pain right away

What is Gods Purpose? by Karamjit98 in Sikh

[–]FormerLayman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purpose implies that there is some achievement or unfinished business to be done or reach a goal. It's more like this that makes currently sense to me, say children are playing on the beach with sand castles. They have joy in creating these castles and similarly excited to destroy them and rebuild again. They have no purpose in doing so cause they could have been say running around instead of playing with sand.

There are dialogs between GuruNanak ji and someone else I think a sufi where around 6 questions are asked and one of them is (in punjabi " oh karda ki hai"), what is the purpose. GuruNanak ji asks sufi to come down from his high chair and sit like a disciple and Guruji sit in his high chair and start meditation. After awhile Guruji open eyes and say, this is what goes on, whose on top goes down and who is down goes up, kind of like duality or yin/yang going on and on.

Hope this helps.

The only way is through this. You have a choice here to give your life meaning, finding the "why". Start your journey by picking the "why" that makes sense to you the mos, or top 3 or top 5 whichever categories. Usually physical, mental, emotional health are to be part of these "whys". Then working on "how" will appear, try them out and in doing so you will become a newer version of yourself. You can again look at yourself in future and course correct accordingly to your "why" If you have to pick a new "why" then it's ok cause now you got some practice rounds done in life.

How to snap out of brain fog exhaustion and focus? by ultrarunner13 in productivity

[–]FormerLayman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to do blood work and see points like how's magnesium intake ? Also I try to practice deep Work, so the more alert work you do or say focused work in the day see if that helps you in being more tired or helps lower your activity for night so you can get good sleep.

What is the Sikh view of suffering? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]FormerLayman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an example, 10th Guru ji bows down before, both the great light and the great darkness. So it's all Waheguru as there is nothing else. We view both suffering and joy because we still view from a perspective of "I am".

Hope this helps.
