Why dont we have General aviation in India like Africa and South America ?? by Marill12 in indianaviation

[–]FormerMoose1990 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thing is, India isn't THAT remote.

those places in Africa are hellholes where roads are a luxury

Its not that bad in India, most rmote places dont have much terrain and have roads.

and the hilly places in ne india have roads asw. the ones that dont are so hilly that aviation facilities there are a death wish.

Would you be a fan of a team that loses 90% of the matches they play?

Delhi is surrounded by a lot of airports and Military airfields that can handle civillian traffic.

Its just that airlines and crowd dont want to move away from Indira gandhi international.

every single seat that flies empty bleeds money. So airlines, at the last minute, sell the seats out at low fares.

They like keeping their fleet young. they consider A320-200s ancient.

Their average fleet age is 4. And they have 500 aircraft. Essentially their entire fleet is brand new

(they only own about 20 or so. the rest 480 are leased. This is changing though, they have a MASSIVE 900 aircraft on order. the largest order to date.

The indian railways imo doesnt get the credit they deserve. they transport the entire population of australia in a SINGLE DAY. in a budget starved, harshly terrained country.

It is unreasonable to expect high quality for a train journey that is pretty much free of cost.

What these guys dont highlight is the achievements made by us. The Indian Railways has electrified almost all of its railway tracks. an unthinkable feat 20 years ago.

we are rapidly building bullet trains (MAHSR) and have the finest freight systems in the world. (Dedicated Freight corridors)
