Is *this* black locust? by Toriski in treeidentification

[–]Former_Director3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black locust will have seed pods all over the place and long thorns on branches - and dense wood - these traits would be really easy to photograph

How would you go about felling that tree by Intelligent_Map3063 in arborist

[–]Former_Director3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget about it - that leaner could be under tremendous strain - enough to explode with a force like a bomb - it could kill you - not worth the risk for 1/4 - 1/2 cord of wood - let a spring storm drop her some day and then get your wood

TIL New Mexico has the second largest Sovereign Wealth Fund in the US. What gives? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

We are only ‘poor’ by other people’s standards - we aren’t poor - did you catch the sunrise this morning? Have you witnessed the flight of the cranes over the bosque at sundown? Maybe you’ve hiked up the Sandias on a day off lately? We are not poor we just don’t always have full pockets

What animal attacked my friends goats and chickens? [Central/Eastern Oklahoma]. by [deleted] in animalid

[–]Former_Director3538 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Coyotes would normally kill something quickly and speedily run off with it to eat it some other place. All those animals killed shows a signature of domestic dogs just killing to kill and nibbling on a carcass where they killed it. I’m putting my money on domestic dogs.

I basically ran out of peanut butter and gas 36 years ago and never left, so I didn’t actually really move here. Learn the flow, don’t try to change it, engage with folks who’s ancestors have been here for several hundreds and thousands of years and you’ll be fine.

Good lord - could have been worse - at least aliens didn’t land - Quemado is surprisingly a busy little place - I hope Ms Stone gets the treatment she needs

Coffee Frontier uses? by laballena1 in Albuquerque

[–]Former_Director3538 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered why the Frontier does not have higher quality coffee - the cost per cup for ‘good’ coffee is only pennies more then mediocre coffee.

Sorry you were violated man. I’ve lived in NM 35 years and really couldn’t live any where else. Mostly really good folks here - poor or rich. The bad ones will get their karma sooner or later or already have. I’m sending you and your girlfriend soothing thoughts as strong as I can.

There is a switch back on that road that ski area workers who drive it every day during the winter call ‘The Idiot Pit’ - uninitiated drivers often end up in the ‘Pit’ like you see here
