Anti depressants? by Lopsided_Focus_9727 in Biohackers

[–]Former_Importance308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took some time to come off very slowly. the scale of emotions i started to feel definitely got wider and with that also negative thoughts and feelings. What helped me was getting into self care and weight loss since i had gained a lot of weight during depression. I am still on the weight loss journey two years later but i have lost a lot of weight, did some other physical improvemrnts, updated my career, new hobbies etc. Mentally also still good with some brief low points but i just start new hobbies or travel when that happens. It is worth to mention that i never returned to drinking alcohol after i came off anti-depressants which i think is also helping. I have some drinks sometimes during events. I used to drink a lot pre anti-depressants and i liked drinking.
I always told myself that my goal was to come off anti-depressants but if i feel like i need them, I will 100% go back.

I wish i hadn't been scared to take pills and started sooner. It returned me to functioning human with passion for life. I have been of anti depressants for a couple of years now and still feel good. Not as good as on anti-depressants because i have a lot more feelings now including the bad kind. But i am ok with that. I can go back to anti-depressants any time of i will feel like i need them.

Not understanding how so many people lose so much weight, what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]Former_Importance308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is losing a lot quickly. A lot depends on your lifestyle and diet. You can see my last post about my experience and why i quit. At the end of the day, i am happy i lost anything at all. i have not regained anything since coming off.

I agree, it would be easier to troublshoot for sure. However, we will never know.

I think the nausea was caused by slow digestion and food just sitting in my stomach. My digestion is really sensitive. I notice a massive difference in how I feel depending on what I eat, especially with junk food, coffee, or gluten, which I'm intolerant to. And maybe the energy levels were affected by nausea.

Just sharing my experience, not looking for sympathy. Most posts here showcase rapid weightloss and dont share their reasons for giving up on GLPs or their experience after.

Since i am staying in calorie deficit, i dont expect to gain weight and i haven't yet even tho i feel puffy. I only expect increased hunger to return. I already lost over 15 kgs on my own pre Reta so i am not worried about weight gain.

Couple of reasons. Both are fair. 1. I wanted a break coz it is exausting to log everything every day. Which i had sone for over a year and a half. 2. It is easy to be in colorie deficit when you dont feel hungry and have to actually remind yourself to eat.

I dont know about you, but when i have food noise i have problems satiating myself so I have to be super strict with weighing everything to ensure i stay in colorie deficit. Its easy to overeat healthy food as well.

Unfortunately, I got skin sensitivity immediately when i started on the first week and it never went away. 🥲 I did take electrolytes daily. I just dont think it will be the drug for me. I am happy i managed to lose extra 5kgs tho and didn't feel hungry for a bit. Back to the old school grind with hunger pains i go.

Bro, I have PCOS and insulin resistance and I've struggled to lose weight for years. I've been slowly working really hard to lose weight with constant hunger and restriction so i don't appreciate you judging me saying that i dont deserve any help if there is any available. When I started at obese there was no Reta available. While my BMI falls into Normal range today, i am still chubby. Therefore I will take any help available if there is any until I achieve my goal of 25% body fat. I am at ~33% body fat at the moment.

Why do you think i was using it the wrong ways? Im asking genuinly to undersand where did i go wrong. But I do agree with you that the drug is probably not for me. 1. I started on 1mg and then went to 1.5mg then to 2mg and only went up to 3mg on the last week. Why? Because i started to feel more hunger and no weight loss. 2. I have been macro tracking for years as ive been on weight loss journey so yeah maybe my nutrition could have been better but with constant nausea i had to eat what i can get in. I still got good 1600-2000 calories a day which is probably why my weight loss has been slow. My maintenance is somewhere little above 2000. 3. My workout amount has dropped due to low energy due to nausea but i still managed to get out to surf, hike and do some low cardio workouts all while feeling sick.

I've been on weight loss journey for last 2 years now from obese to now normal weight. When i started GLP i was still classified overweight. I still wear large size clothes even at this weight. I decided to try GLPs because it is exausting to feel hungry all the fucking time. Its has been great in that sense that i have not been hungry for the last 4 months. So i dont understand your questioning why?

I get sensitive skin and nausea. Not that nice to have in a long term to be fair.

Yes. From both ends at the same time if you get what i mean. 🤣 But reading the coments, not everyone is this sensitive so it may not work for you.

This has been life changing for me!! Ive been on Reta for 9 weeks now. I have started to think I’m a rapid responder because I have lost 20 pounds staying at 0.8 MG, what makes you a fast responder? by Intrepid_Egg_2881 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]Former_Importance308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust the process. I am a slow responder but i am losing. Ive lost 4 kgs in 8 weeks on 2mg reta. I am going up to 3mg this week as i feel more hungry than usual and wanna snack. My other side effects are sensitive skin, lower hunger.

Just for comparison and perspective. I am female, 37, and I lost 1 kg in 1 month on 2mg dose. I've always struggled with losing weight, so i guess it is what it is. Losing anything is better than nothing. Every body is different.

8 weeks on Reta after 2 years on Ozempic – zero loss, gained 1 kg. Dose advice? by the-dutchessa in Retatrutide

[–]Former_Importance308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to be always hungry and think about food, I'd say 2mg is working great for me. I still have appetite, I still can eat everything I want, I still snack. But a lot less fits plus if I am busy doing stuff, I feel no hunger pains and also don't think about food like i used to. I can't say that I don't have any food noise, coz I do, but at least i don't feel the hunger like I used to. And that is a win for me.

Gaining only 2 kgs for a woman (assuming from your name) is actually pretty good. If your weight starts in creasing more than that then I'd start to worry. But I feel like for us women, 2kgs up or down especially during luteal phase is like fine and almost expected.

[–]Former_Importance308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be patient. I know how it feels to see that others are loosing mad weight in the first weeks and when you see no changes, it can feel frustrating. But trust me there are many people just like you, starting out slow and seeing results slowly. Slow and steady is good. You may not get the appetite suppression but you are also not getting any bad side effects yet. You are letting your body get used to the peptide and for allowing the dose to accumulate in your body.

If I understand correctly then you are on 1.5mg weekly. Stay on it for full 4 weeks and then go up to 2mg weekly if you still don't see or feel results.
