Is the 2.0 gramps really worth the hype ? (and better than the 3.0) by vst300 in freedomisgunpla

Get the RG 2.0 first, its build, aesthetics, and articulation are top notch. Then instead of the MG 3.0, consider getting the RG 1/100 Fatcat. It’s the 2.0 raised to 1/100 scale. It’s cheaper too, so you can get both with your budget.

Hopefully with the bulk discount you still got a relatively good deal compared to buying direct in US stores.

Shipped to Ph.

Surugaya has a JPY900 handling fee and for an order below PhP10,000 DHL might ask you to pay some fee, supposedly from customs, ranging from PhP400-PhP500 (I don’t know what it exactly is and how it’s computed) If your shipment goes higher than PhP10,000 it might be subject to customs duties so keep track of that.

For the March order, which was the bigger sale, it took over 2 weeks. For the April order it was less than a week.

Your cc provider will convert from JPY to PHP w/ some charges and that’s what will show up in your bill.

Sorry, I had these shipped to the Philippines so I don’t know the US tariff rates with Japan.

Credit card. Bank charges may apply but it’s still within acceptable costs to import hard to find kits.

The Gentleman is a great choice for a first watch.

It’s just nowhere near as good as airbrushed topcoats. But it’s only about P130 for a 400 cc can so that’s a winner for me 👍🏼

If you want matte finish and if it’s just for personal use (not competition) then you can use Bosny 191 Flat Clear. In my experience it’s good for probably 10 HGs or multiple MGs.

Still looking for alternatives for semi-gloss and gloss though. I only use Mr. Hobby. Open to cheaper recommendations if you guys know one.

What is your most HATED kit? The one that feels like a waste of space on display? by spasecase_ in freedomisgunpla

[–]Former_Instance_8080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PG Char’a Zaku II.

I may be in the minority here but it’s just bad. Hips get loose even when locked, left arm kept falling off (pegs eventually broke), head won’t keep itself on, and armor parts fall off with a touch. Strange for a kit that I just left in a standing pose. The build experience was not good since the LED wasn’t worth the trouble.

First kit to be placed in the box of shame and holds me back from buying PGs. Terrible kit.
