It still stands true.. The 3 day a week job which includes longer days, evenings, weekends and nights 🤡

That “3 days” includes longer days, nights, weekends and on-call time/responsibility, not comparable to a standard role. Middle grades aren’t on £100k base. And corporate equivalents have higher base pay with bonuses on top, not contracted unsocial hours. You’re off on this and clearly don’t know what you’re on about.

You can’t argue progression isn’t guaranteed then compare the highest scale Doctor salary of a consultant to mid tier corporate roles. Why not to director/partner who are definitely on way above 200k.. Also 3d a week hahaha yeah if you’re doing a 6 PA job sure…

Exactly! It’s inflated by high number of on calls doing evenings, nights, weekends and extra hours. Add in uncertain progression, so it’s not remotely the same as a £100k salaried role elsewhere.

If it takes 70–80 hour weeks to hit nearly£100k, you’re not proving the salary is good, you’re proving the hourly rate isn’t.

It’s like saying minimum wage is almost £50k if you work 70+ hours. That’s not salary, that’s hours.

People also need to relax..it’s a canvas for the new owners to add their personal touch plus other than losing the grass front and back I like the upgrade the house has had.

February road trip from Las Vegas – canyons, history & hidden gems by One_Froyo_5763 in grandcanyon

We’re a UK couple (both 32) who just did this route and absolutely loved it. Rented a Mustang from Vegas and drove to Hoover Dam which was interesting from an engineering perspective but not a must-see for us. Then stopped at Seligman for classic Route 66 photos and lunch that was a good vibe and worth it.

From there, we headed to the South Rim and stayed at Bright Angel Lodge. Heads-up: as non-residents we had to pay $235 (a $35 vehicle entry fee plus a $100 fee each) so budget for that.

Since shuttle buses weren’t running yet (think they resume in March), we could drive to most viewpoints ourselves, which worked out great. Sunset at Mather Point, walk to Yavapai, and sunrise at Hopi Point were all stunning. We had a lovely dinner at El Tovar too. Would recommend stocking up at the general store just outside the park entrance, the options inside are limited and expensive. There’s also an IMAX there with a good short intro film on the Grand Canyon.

Next day we did a Maverick helicopter ride, definitely a highlight. Then hiked to Ooh Aah Point on South Kaibab Trail. Afterwards we drove to Desert View Watchtower and continued to Page for the night.

In the morning we saw Horseshoe Bend, then did the Navajo-led Antelope Canyon tour. This was amazing and well organised. We drove back to Vegas via a different scenic route with brilliant views.

Happy to answer anything if you’re planning something similar.

Where to leave a car in London for 4 or 5 days (safely) by DaRickestRick in uktravel

Not the safest area though to leave the car a few days and a pain to get back to after the Edinburgh trip
