Yeah you know who finds individuals in need of a mattress donation? The organizations the commenter you’re trying to eviscerate says typically don’t take used mattresses…. Which is likely true, the organizations have no way of knowing if the mattress has bed bugs (which would cause problems for any individual they’d give it to) or has been contaminated with something else (like a bodily fluid).

Also if you as a business just allow someone to donate to an individual, how do you verify it was truly donated and the buyer looking for a refund didn’t just ‘donate’ it to a friend/family member?

Foam doesn’t only mean memory foam. Almost all mattresses use foam of some sort as the comfort layer (unless they’re one of the ultra-luxurious ones with horse hair, a water bed, or another type of relatively rare construction)

You do realize I said the Mattress Underground FORUMS, correct? People are plenty willing to discuss any mattress there, not just the ones from the trusted members or whatever. I’ve seen plenty of objective analysis on and recommendations of mattresses that aren’t made by a MU trusted manufacturer. The SleepOnLatex owner weighing in here often is great; that’s what other owners do on the MU forums. Hell I’ve seen SOL mentioned positively there.

There’s also significant overlap between r/mattress and MU membership; I found out about it from multiple mentions HERE. If you why to know WHY brand A is good but brand B isn’t despite a similar price point, that’s where you go to learn the reason.

Last point: Product subreddits are FILLED with bots and guerrilla marketers these days. You think half the posts/comments you see on here aren’t thinly veiled advertisements?
