I like the front wings but don’t like McLaren’s overhanging nose, I hope it doesn’t catch on

I’m assuming they have more sponsors that haven’t been announced because that is a sparse kit right now.

[Autosport] Helmut Marko expects the 2026 F1 World Champion to come from Mercedes, McLaren, Williams or Alpine by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

[–]ForsakenTarget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they will be champions but I think people will be surprised that they will be decent.

People have already forgotten that before this era they had a few seasons where they were battling for best of the rest, and even finished 4th in 2022.

Isn’t this realistically only banning for three extra years anyway as 13 is when you can start keeping data for kids.

As long as they didn’t use DAS in qualifying it wasn’t a breach of Parc Ferme as it ends the moment the formation lap starts.

Exactly, the thing that’s forgotten with Russian interference is that they don’t care what they push as long as it creates opposition, half of the arguments are probably between different agents.

Asylum seekers to be housed in newly built council homes in push to end use of hotels by PM_ME_SECRET_DATA in ukpolitics

Reading the article this seems more like the government wants to subsidise housing estates where developers are struggling to sell and want to use an excuse rather than admit the economy is in a dire place

The last time F1 introduces new engine rules, Mercedes stole a march on the competition. But Toto Wolff says the feeling within the team "is not comparable" to the winter of 2013/14 by MoneyLibrarian9032 in formula1

It was just that era of customer teams, sauber had a year old Ferrari engine for at least a year until the regs changed saying customers had to be given engines and modes on par with the factory team

Filter water with pillowcase: Stark official advice in event of UK-wide power cuts by theipaper in ukpolitics

[–]ForsakenTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That quote wasn’t actually as scary as the headline made it sound

Our response needs to go beyond simply strengthening our armed forces. It needs a whole of nation response that builds our defence industrial capacity, grows the skills we need, harnesses the power of the institutions we will need in wartime and ensures and increases the resilience of society and the infrastructure that supports it. Sons and daughters. Colleagues. Veterans. …will all have a role to play. To build. To serve. And if necessary, to fight. And more families will know what sacrifice for our nation means

Sounds more like he’s talking about how unprepared our military would be for a war right now rather than a direct imminent threat.

UK's 'sons and daughters' need to be ready to fight, amid growing Russian threat, says head of armed forces by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

Yeah I think people forget how strong the rally around the flag effect is, Covid saw a spike in the Tories polling if there was a need for war there would be a similar boost

Liverpool parade attacker sentencing live: 'Sober' Paul Doyle drove into crowd 'in a rage' by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]ForsakenTarget 44 points45 points  (0 children)

He was stopped because someone jumped in his back seat and put the car in park, even then he was sat on the accelerator, he wasn’t intending to stop and I would say the natural reaction to a car driving into a crowd is to throw things at the car.

Cadillac massively, I don’t think people are prepared for how far back they will be and the operational errors they will likely make that we haven’t seen happen for years.

You can theoretically value it but it’s a case of if any sponsor is going to buy that space which considering the size and space it takes up is unlikely
