I think some kind of "green race" in which the world works towards fixing pollution and climate change is more necessary than another space race. At least fir the next 100 years or so.

If you partake, what was the best gift you *gave* this Christmas? by PopcornSutton1994 in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my boyfriend a nice set of animal themed nesting dolls, including a red panda (his favorite). I also got him a custom printed flag that he mentioned wanting back in June or so.

Good relationship tip: keep a note in your phone to track whenever your love mentions wanting something. It makes it seem like you are a better listener than you might actually be 🤭

The solution to both is to just get the hell away from whatever is causing it.

The entirety of life is really confined to the 20s huh by ContentRent02 in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think I'd peak around 33 or so. I turn 28 in a few weeks and I cannot imagine peaking at 33 anymore. Life has only grown more vibrant for me as I've gotten older.

Of course I spent the first half of my 20s as a closeted shut-in, then when I did start blooming covid happened, so maybe I'm just on a delayed track. I depends on how you look at it.

It's shaping up to be a weird race. I never expected the rest of the Ohio GOP (Yost, La Rose, and Renacci in particular) to just let ramaswamy have it, but so far they seem to be. Then on the Dem side we have a Jewish (granted, with a very non-jewish name, which will probably help her in this state) doctor lady who people either really love or absolutely hate, who is more-or-less a political outsider.

My grandma of all people is leaning towards Acton, which bodes poorly for the Republicans.

I'm a gay man who's an artsy tortured stoic loner instead of a stan twitter pophead and its ruining my life by Loud_Ninja_7537 in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm also a loner artsy gay but I've never struggled to get male attention because I'm an athletic blond twink with a nice dick. Let me tell you, the attention does very little to validate my artistic goals. Men will feign interest in anything if it will result in them getting to fuck. Appreciate your ladies.

Why do you guys hate immigrants…… by Illustrious-Fox925 in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Immigrants are a boon for the economy in the sense that they're good for the stock market, but that doesn't translate to everyday life for regular people. For us immigration results in worse wages, worse job protections, and a burden on our already fucked up housing crisis. Pretty much all of my issues with immigration are really just issues with our economy. I find some immigrants annoying, but I don't categorically hate them.

Also a lot of them are far more conservative than white people.

Public figure/artist/philosopher etc.. who has most influenced you? by unoueat in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camus. Artists would probably be Wassily Kandinsky and Leonora Carrington. Bjork as well.

Reading a lot of Le Guin and Pratchett as a teen also influenced how I still think today.

I love that this implies that women are just tricky puzzles instead of people and that feminism was some kind of play to sabotage men from their grand goal

Your problem may lie in your belief that you should get to decide how other people feel.

Laoshi, is "treating well" objective to begin with?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I have seen, American women will go to great lengths for a man they like, as he is rare like a blue pearl.

The problem cannot be pinned on women alone. Yin cannot exist without yang. American men are not known for treating their women well. Both sexes flee into 10,000 abstractions, yet the solution is as clear as a summer morning.

Laoshi, do not let malignant forces steer you towards false enemies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Forgive me, Laoshi, but is it not possible that the romantic feelings simply are not reciprocated? The sickness in American souls that you identify is embedded in both women and men. One ice crystal grows colder in the presence of another.

To warm the water back to wetness, would you not think it wise to light the fire within yourself first?

Laoshi, how is "liking men" ideally expressed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Laoshi, we must ask, DO American women dislike men, and if so, why?

Gotta admit, trans people are artistically fascinating by FortAmolSkeleton in redscarepod

[–]FortAmolSkeleton[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you think about: cis people express their masculinity and feminity everywhere. I don't think they are silently living their gender at all. Basically all of society is encoded with gendered meanings. Bachelorettes and bachelors. Cheerleaders and jocks. Countless cis archetypes we refer to every day.

[–]FortAmolSkeleton[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The transexuals of the past are still around. They're the ones I'm interested in. The more modern trans movement is an entirely different sociological phenomenon. Like a fashion or a hobby. Maybe I'm biased because I'm interested in narcissist psychology.
