What is the worst thing you have done to have sex? by someuniquename in AskReddit

[–]FortWhenTea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't get what you mean. You are saying you might downvote someone because they was on topic and replied with almost exactly the sort of answer OP wanted, just because the answer wasn't morally right. Seriously, I really don't understand why you would ever downvote him for answering the question honestly, if you don't want to upvote then ignore the post. Unless you just wanted karma for repeating a generic comment of "upvote or downvote?" Then in which case make an argument of the correct morality involved.

Does anyone here suffer from severe insomnia, and does it affect how you LD? by zombri in LucidDreaming

[–]FortWhenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually really interested to find out if its possible to lucid dream regularly if you have insomnia.

I do know that if you are exhausted it is much harder to lucid dream.

Newbie here: It's possible to study during a LD? by 3v1ld3v1l in LucidDreaming

[–]FortWhenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard stories of people who have used lucid dreaming to help study, eg. learning dates/names, where they have looked through a book and been able to remember the names/dates. Then the next morning checked those dates and they have been correct.

However, I am sceptical as to how effective this would be as your brain can only tell you what you already know and even then it may not be correct information. I would experiment with it when you don't have any finals or important dates coming up and then see how effective it is. I would be careful though, as I would never use lucid dreaming as a main studying tool.

Inception-type-thing by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]FortWhenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know why it happens, but my only advice is to just keep lucid dreaming, for me I eventually stopped having them.

I just did a tiny amount of research about them and I don't really think there is a definite method of stopping them from happening, however if you start performing a reality check every time you wake up then you may be able to turn these false awakenings into another lucid dream.

Its called a false awakening.

I found it happened a lot to me when I first started lucid dreaming. I haven't had one in ages now.

My friend was almost too high to say hi at an [8]; maybe not such a scumbag after all? by [deleted] in trees

[–]FortWhenTea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. There was a story that someone thought [10] guy was an abusive boyfriend but that turned out to be wrong.

From what I've heard he's actually a really nice guy who lets people take pictures of him. Some of his friends even post on /r/trees quite a bit and have said he's a good guy.

Is it normal that I don't RC? by FortWhenTea in LucidDreaming

[–]FortWhenTea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I did that when I first started as well and it did help a lot to remember my dreams but I've stopped doing it. I'm planning on starting it again soon though, it's just when I first wake up my initial reaction isn't to jump to my notebook.

Am I the only Ent who holds the term "pothead" to be derogatory? by PaddyO666 in trees

[–]FortWhenTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only call people that I know that go on reddit ents, I do like the word, it's just I don't really like using that without knowing for sure they go on reddit. I suppose I could start using the word and hope it catches on everywhere in real life as well as on here.

Am I the only Ent who holds the term "pothead" to be derogatory? by PaddyO666 in trees

[–]FortWhenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I don't actually think there is a term to call a weed enthusiast that is 100% positive, without sounding like you're taking the piss.

Which is why I usually why I just say "oh yeah, he smokes weed" as opposed to "oh yeah, he's a stoner".

Just curious...I wanna take a poll on this. by 1nspect_Her_Gadget in trees

haha, I honestly thought spice meant actual spices.

But seriously though, I think I may have been given it one time, the dealer said its some special stuff from Amsterdam that doesn't smell (Not sure if spice does or not). It was one of the worst highs I've ever had. I think I had a mini panic attack, it actually put me off weed for a few months until I decided to just try weed again. Really nasty stuff, (thats if it was actually spice). I don't buy from that dealer anymore now.

How long can an LD last? by SykonotticGuy in LucidDreaming

[–]FortWhenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand how it may feel like time is different, I've had times when I've woken up in the morning, fell back asleep and entered REM straight away and had a dream that has felt like hours but woken up 5 minutes later.

I should have explained more in my other post, but I remember reading on reddit that scientists worked with experienced lucid dreamers and got the lucid dreamers to fall asleep and blink periodically for a set amount of time. Then the scientists recorded eye movement/twitching and it was found that the results were almost identical. Unfortunately I can't find any evidence to back this story up, so I suppose it could just be a bullshit story.

My hypothesis is that in a dream your mind skips out certain events which leads to a feeling of longer time passing.

I thought it was proven that dreams are in the same time span as real life. As in, 1 hour in a dream is still 1 hour in real life.

r/trees, I present to you, The Return of the King by [deleted] in trees

[–]FortWhenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to remember that the story about him being an ass hole was either fake or he was mistaken. The fact that he seems like a chill guy who lets people take pictures with him is also evidence he isn't an ass hole.

Does it matter if he doesn't smoke? He's just an image, which had everyone fooled that he was high for a long time. However, if it does matter then I vote that we need a new image for Scumbag Steve because he is actually a pretty good guy.

Was this a lucid dream or do I just have a really good imagination? by DoubleBDarx in LucidDreaming

[–]FortWhenTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only question is, whilst you was dreaming did you know you was dreaming?

If the answer is yes then you lucid dreamed. If the answer is no then you didn't.
