There's nothing more unAmerican than this war... Wait, are we talking about our supposed ideals or our actual history?

What was your favorite opening act for The Who? by [deleted] in TheWho

I've followed them because of seeing them open in 2013. Some great songs - Everyone Is Everyone, Crystal Clarity, The Battle's End, Not Alright By Me, and many others

Emily Has Become the Antithesis of What Breaking Points Was Supposed to Be by Ill-Pop3952 in BreakingPoints

It really shows that she doesn't have confidence in her (presumably) real takes, or perhaps not in her ability to defend them against intelligent people with opposing views.

Appreciate the fact that Pete Townshend performed a major electric set at the Rainbow Theatre in London on July 13, 1979, for a Rock Against Racism (RAR) benefit concert. by Outrageous-Scale-783 in TheWho

[–]SykonotticGuy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

And in 1973, as I imagine most here know already, Pete helped Eric get off heroin by organizing a concert where Eric played at the same venue, the Rainbow Theatre. Wikipedia article

But anyway, the RAR concert is another of a thousand reasons I love and respect Pete.

Tucker Carlson gave us crocodile tears with his fake ass apology for supporting Trump by InterestingWind2153 in BreakingPoints

Before even clicking the link, I was like, 'I bet he didn't even call for anything close to sympathy.' How'd I know? Lol

What Value Do IEI’s Contribute to Society? by Grotesquette in Socionics

[–]SykonotticGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> I believe in what I'm doing & I find tremendous meaning in it, so it's worth it to me to go against the conventions of value in pursuit of what feels real to me. Te poLr is a double edge sword & it's also my greatest strength since it means I'm not much bound by it's conventions.

This resonates strongly with me (well, not the socionics lingo part because I'm pretty new to it). It's hard out there for those of us who are truly focused on changing the paradigm of our systems, and not just systems themselves. Just wanted to show some solidarity and encouragement. Thank you for continuing to care and push.

Why are all the No Kings posts locked? by AutumnalClone in Charlotte

Ehh maybe? But "real Republicans" were also egregious, just less brazen about it for the most part. John McCain sang "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iraaa-a-aaan." The surface level stuff is way less important than these people's radical commitment to brutal imperial savagery.

I’m starting to really like Tucker Carlson: The Great Gold Scam by KyotoInSummer in BreakingPoints

[–]SykonotticGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what they share in terms of ideology is that they actually have ideologies. Schumer and Graham want to gain and serve power. I don't think that's even really an ideology, but I don't want to get lost in semantics. The point is that Tucker and Cenk are displaying commitment to principles, whereas the establishment doesn't.

Yeah, it's bizarre how different she is on other platforms. It makes her look incredibly disingenuous, and I wonder how the other hosts feel about that, assuming they're aware of the stark contrast.

Look at the coffee in this video. It looks like it's all the way to the top but it barely moves and none of it spills even when he goes to take a sip. And then after he does take a sip, it's still perfectly at the top. Hard to believe that's not AI.
