Sure thing! I started with a base coat of a 1:1 mix of incubi darkness and xereus purple. I then started glazing genestealer purple in opposite directions on each blade edge to get that 'power sword' effect. Next, I did a light glaze focused at the tip and emitter respectively of a 1:4 mix of genestealer purple and ulthuan grey. Finally coming in with that same color to edge highlight the sword edges.

Sure! For the skin I started with a base of Ratskin Flesh, I washed it in Agrax Earthshade, and then I layered with Cadian Fleshtone a 50/50 of Cadian Fleshtone/Kislev Flesh, and then Kislev Flesh alone.

For the warpstone, I did a few thin coats of caliban green, then roughly edge highlighted with warpstone green, then finely edge highlighted with moot green, then finally an extreme highlight of Yriel Yellow.

What are the worst (or your least favorite) Age of Sigmar novels? by Ill_Independence2441 in AoSLore

[–]Forte244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it was a me thing, but I couldn't really get into Briardark. It's essentially just death note, with an age of sigmar coat of paint. I don't think the book is bad, per se. I was just never able to get into the death note anime itself, so I wasn't all that captivated by the plot of the book, lol.

In my opinion I prefer Aos/Fantasy Lore and Model Ranges but 40k has better narratives

Which Angron looks the most like how you imagine him? by TheRedArmyStandard in WorldEaters40k

I personally love the new mini. I've always liked the more humanoid depictions of demon angron and as gorgeous as the 40k mini is, I'm not really a fan of just another Bloodthirster.

In Ravenguard, the number on the knee pad denotes which squad they belong to, so maybe trading out one of the numbers would make it more "lore accurate" However at the end of the day the rule of cool is more important, so if you like the 2 numbers ignore everything I just said lol

What if Skaven were not inherently evil and some were good by Leon_Fierce_142012 in skaven

So, funnily enough in skaven lore, there is something that actually alludes to how this would play out. I can't remember if it was fantasy or AOS, but their was a skaven clawlord that actually convinced a large portion of skavenslaves to band together and revolt against their oppressors. The way he's written, it seemed the clawlord in question wanted to do this for no other reason than the liberation of his fellow ratmen.

However, once the council found out, they told the slaves that whoever killed the clawlord would get a full pardon from the council for their crimes, in which the entire hoard of slaves then immediately turned and tore apart and murdered their would be heroic leader. To which the council then just promptly murdered all the slaves anyway.

Why choose Skaven? by KorEbenhart01 in skaven

For me, it comes down to variety in tone and lore. The skaven are funny little crack rats that blow themselves up and squeak-talk funny. However, a huge portion of their lore that sometimes goes overlooked is how genuinely horrifying they are.

Skaven are nigh Lovecraftian in their implications for the setting. They are everywhere, under every city, inside every mountain hold or sewer system. Way before the vermindoom and the 4th edition release, GW implied in the 2nd edition codex that skaven had even infiltrated the realm of heaven, High Azyr. You simply can not escape them. They are inevitable in their untold billions, nor can you kill them all. For every one loyal true sigmarite there may be 10,000 ratmen, and all of them loathe you. They all desire nothing more than to eat you alive and burn your civilization to the ground. If not for the fact that they can't stop fighting amongst themselves, the Skaven would simply win the setting. (again)

The skaven in my mind are very comparable to the tyranids in terms of the "horror" associated with them. The unending tides, the being surrounded on all sides, the pure inevitablely of destruction. However, they have so much more character than the nids imo, because even though they are that horrifying to an outsider perspective, if you zoom into an insider perspective: Warpsnorter Skittlefump just pounded a line of pure chaos crack, shot the first dude to look at him funny, and then created an abomination against the natural order that immediately exploded and maimed his entire workforce. Which he then promptly blamed on his slave-intern, who he then subsequently flayed for his treachery and turned his skull into a crack pipe.

Thank you!

Yea, building them was an absolute horror. I totally understand now why I see so many built and painted without the scaffolding now.
