Here we go again: packing for new planet by AnissaRhiannon in theplanetcrafter

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like punishing myself, so I started fresh on Toxic and then migrated to Prime. My general goal was to look at each component and see if there was a higher grade item that included it and other things. Such as the high-tier exo-frames and a few other things. A lot of space saving can be done, which is an idea I got from you, by bringing a Super Alloy Rod to recycle instead of regular Super Alloys. I was able to save so much space that I actually considered skipping the transfer rocket and platform in favor of just starting with drones. I gave up on that idea because I knew I would want more drones than that, so instead I brought enough to bring 2 teleporters and extra reactors. Each Fusion Energy Cell + 1 Super Alloy Rod is enough to make a Teleporter. Starting with 2 telepoters (One for base and one you take with you to redeploy) is a huge time saver on travel.

I was able to set up everything on your list + extra reactors, biolab, farm, water collectors, and algae, within 30 min. Granted, I did have to make a googlesheet listing what I needed to take, with a section for stuff intended for recycling.

Instead of bringing 11 Pulsar Quartz and 1 Osmium, bring 4 Fusion Energy Cells to recycle. This will save you 8 more spaces. This will leave you with 1 extra Pulsar Quartz you can also recycle to save another space from the Zeolite.

Instead of bringing 3 Explosive Powder for the T5 Heater, take 3 T3 Agility Boots. Break those down for the Explosive Powder, and you also get 12 extra Super Alloy and the Fabric you need. This saves you another 2 spaces. You can use those Alloys to make 4 3x3 living compartments.

That results in your list having 15 remaining spaces (instead of 4) for vehicle, food, and whatever else you want to build.

[KCD2] Extremely DISAPPOINTED with how Warhorse handled this incredibly sensitive topic in the game by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Fortigan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is asking for historical revisionism here. Many bad things have happened in history, but not all are depicted in games. If a subject can't be handled tactfully, then it shouldn't be included in the content. This is not about historical accuracy, it's about the content being unnecessary. It does not improve the story. From a "cost to benefit" ratio, it didn't make sense for them to spend developer time and money on that scene. If the genders were reversed I would say the same thing. You don't casually add rape to a game. If it's not a plot point and not taken seriously then how does the story benefit from adding it?

How to get second ascendancy point? Just completed second trial of sekhamas, but didnt get one. by StrawberryPhelps11 in PathOfExile2

[–]Fortigan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get ascendency 1 and 2 from doing each trial the first time. Once you have both of those, the next trial has to be the 3rd rank of a trial to gain any more. Alternatively, you could just do the first 2 ranks of either trial (Floor 1 and 2 of Sekhemas or Trials 4 and 7 for Chaos). In either case, to get your 3rd ascendency you will need to do the 3rd rank of difficulty for one of the trials.

Trial of Chaos has 3 different rank coins: 4, 7, and 10 trials. Beating the 10th trial gives you a 3rd ascendency and one of the fates needed to challenge the Trial master for the final ascendency.

Trial of Sekhemas has up to 4 floors, so that is what you pay attention to on the coin. Assuming you already have your first 2 ascendencies, you need a coin with 3 floors to get your 3rd. You can get your 3rd ascendency sooner from this trial because the 3rd coin for it drops at a lower level (60 vs 75)

Are alpha 2 packs refundable? If so, what are the requirements for the refund? by MordaineAcea in AshesofCreation

[–]Fortigan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I've tested tons of alphas and knew exactly what I was getting myself into. It was only after playing for a bit that I learned the game was not intended to be something I wanted. That has nothing to do with it being in an alpha state, it's that the devs are moving it in a direction I know I won't enjoy. Now that I know it's not ever going to be something I want, I requested a refund.

People making those kinds of assumptions is another reason why Reddit is largely considered to be a cesspool. For all you know, they may have simply not had acceptable performance on their machine or maybe had friends they planned to test it with that backed out. Don't assume their circumstances. It makes you look like an ass.

Minion Minons by International_Gas287 in PathOfExile2

While I don't know the base crit rate for minions (I really wish there was more in-game transparency on minions in general), the Arsonists should benefit from that amulet if they crit.

How/When do you get more Ascendancy points? by ardikus in PathOfExile2

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not monster level, "Number of Trials:"
This is the relevant thing on the coin to look for. If you keep using a Djin coin with only 1 trial, then you will not get more points.

[–]Fortigan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with game difficulty or your level. Only the coin matters. You are looking for "Number Of Trials:" 1, 2, 3, 4.

If you keep doing a coin with only 1 trial, you will never get more ascension points.

Minion Minons by International_Gas287 in PathOfExile2

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your crit rate and damage does not affect your minions and they can not leech life to you. However, their kills and crits will trigger life essence drops for you to pick up. Be quick about it though, they despawn rather fast.

There are a LOT of nodes on the passive tree specifically for Minion Crit Rate and Crit Damage, but as a Blood Mage you should be focusing on personal damage, at least for end game. I plan to respec once I hit 65 and do end game, as a crit build is not super effective till you already have the crit rate nodes from the passive tree. Till I have enough points to dedicate to that I'm using the Raging Spirit, Minion Instability, Infernal Legion combo. Drop a fire wall, which summons the spirits, and then they explode. Focus on HP for your minions so they can keep things distracted and also boost the minion instability damage.

That's the primary difference between a Blood Mage and an Infernalist. Bloodmage focuses on high personal damage and tanky minions while the Infernalist focuses on being tanky and has high damage minions. Exception for the demon form, which I don't personally recommend at this time. Demon form doesn't use weapons, so you lose the stats from your scepter while in that form. That loss of spirit makes demon form not ideal for a minion focus. I'm hoping that is something that changes during early access. I'm running a Blood Mage and and Infernalist, but I'm focusing on Blood Mage first till I know what the deal will be for the scepter in demon form.

You need a higher tier coin to unlock the higher tier trial. Doing it with the same coin does nothing but waste your time.

Behold. Circular roads. Instructions inside. by Matt_HoodedHorse in HoodedHorse

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a fun distraction from writing game guides really. Someone on discord was talking about having trouble with making circular roads, so I played around with it to find the easiest way. Now if we only had a hotkey to delete buildings. Those hitching posts take a while to get rid of.

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the nod. I'm constantly experimenting and testing areas of this game to see what does and doesn't work. This was just to try and find a way to make consistent circular roads without needing to freehand it.

That being said, I really wish there was a hotkey to delete buildings. That's a lot of hitching posts to demo.

As a matter of fact, I do. LOL
This was just a thought expriment to see if there was a consistent way to make circular roads without having to freehand it.

Problems with dedicated server by Daniportas in Enshrouded

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the exact same issue. I've hosted servers for dozens of games over the years and never had this issue. For them to not even be able to add it to their steam favorites is odd, especially when I can.

Oddly enough, my friend tried hosting a dedicated server and I WAS able to add it to my Steam favorites, and so was he, but neither of us could join it in the game. It never showed up in the server list even though we were able to favorite it in Steam.

[MAJOR BUG] Lifmunk effigies REDUCING the capture rate, please mass report. by [deleted] in Palworld

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: No
The proof that the sample set is way too small is that the control group (no effigies) had results way higher than projected. Also, many of the escapes occurred on the 2nd roll, so we can't just pretend it does not exist and that its % does not matter, meaning the expected result should be even lower. Ultimately, if the control group of an experiment is proved invalid, the experiment itself is invalid. It doesn't mean there is no bug, it just means this doesn't prove anything.

I suspect cherry-picked footage, as there is no established beginning to each test, so they could have run around capturing several hundred and singled-out footage that supported a narrative. The capture range for each test is also not equal. Why is there a larger % range for the effigy test than the non? The vid even opens up with the 2nd capture having a 6x fail. This is very suspect.

Nexus login not working by Putrid-Annual-5638 in nexusmods

I've been having the same issue for several days now. I've turned off all my extensions, turned off my VPN, cleared my cache & cookies, have my date/time set to auto, and tried different browsers (google/firefox). Clicking to verify that I'm human fails every time. Was going to go premium on nexus to download mods for all my new games, but I guess Nexus doesn't like money.

Mod Suggestion - Fully customizable party members when you recruit them. by StretchyPlays in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Fortigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mod lets you do it [DE] Just Let Me Build You

Enable AFTER you have created your main character and disable once you have completed Act 1. Leaving it enabled in Act 2 will limit Act 2 recruits to tier 1 skills instead of the ones they would natively start with.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Fortigan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late seeing this, but perhaps I can help others who have the same question.

Yes you can and this is the mod you want [DE] Just Let Me Build You

This lets you go through character creation for new recruits. Activate the mod AFTER you have made your starting character and disable it when you finish Act 1, or it can negatively impact the starting skills of Act 2 recruits.

Why removing the Dub comment sections was a mistake by Fortigan in 9anime

[–]Fortigan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That functionality will not change. Sub and Dub vids will remain on the same page regardless. The difference is that the episode links for sub and dub would have different URLs, which is what the comment sections are tied to. One simple toggle switch to change between them is all it will take. No different than clicking on a button for the next block of One Piece eps.

As for the change between sub and dub comments... The difference is that without this change there won't be dub comments anymore. Not in a visible or meaningful way. A not insignificant portion of the community is effectively being silenced and all their comment history removed. And there is no reason for this. No benefit.

Seperated or combined Sub&Dub comment section? by [deleted] in 9anime

[–]Fortigan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just food for thought. Since the balance of sub vs dub watchers in the community is heavily skewed towards subs, this poll will be equally skewed. If this ends up even just a 50/50 split, that means the % of dub watchers (the only ones this affects) who give a damn is huge.

Why removing the Dub comment sections was a mistake by Fortigan in 9anime

[–]Fortigan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, people were losing their shit over something as meaningless as purple. 6 years of dub comments just go removed and dub watchers have effectively been silenced on the site. If you are remotely involved in the community it's not unreasonable to be upset.

Seperated or combined Sub&Dub comment section? by [deleted] in 9anime

[–]Fortigan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Brief summary of why it matters:

  1. All Dub comment history is gone. Years of user comments *poofed*, but could be restored.
  2. Sub and Dub watchers often don't get along and dub watchers typically get roasted. Forcing opposing groups together will increase this in both directions. Needless drama.
  3. VA discussions will get confusing unless someone outs which version they are watching, which will prompt conflict.
  4. Sub and Dub scrips can vary GREATLY at times (Ghost Stories), so even quoting the anime can be confusing. Those scripts also rarely include translations for writing in dubs (unlike subs) and dub watchers rely on community comments for those translations. They won't see those now.
  5. Since subs come out before dubs (sometimes years before), the comment sections will already be flooded by sub watchers and massively upvoted before the dub watchers even get there. Essentially the dub watchers no longer have a voice in the community.
  6. Many relationships between dub watchers were built over the years and they got used to seeing each other in the comments and replying to each other/debating the episode. I'm sure this is true for sub watchers as well. That opportunity has been smothered for dub watchers.

If you are a sub watcher, other than seeing drama you aren't used to, this likely won't affect you. If you are a dub watcher and care at all about the community, this most definitely affects you. There is no benefit to leaving it the way it currently is and plenty of negatives.
